Bruno's eyes blazed with fury as he dragged me back to the compound, his grip on my arm like a vice. "You foolish girl," he spat, his voice low and menacing. "You think you can outsmart us? You think you can escape?"
I struggled against his hold, but he was too strong. He pulled me through the gates, back into the heart of the mafia's stronghold. The other trainees who had attempted to escape with me were already being dragged back, their faces pale and frightened.
