As I slowly opened my eyes, the harsh hospital lights pierced through my skull, exacerbating the throbbing headache. But amidst the discomfort, I heard a familiar voice, a gentle whisper that seemed like a heavenly melody. "I'm here, don't move," Bruno's soothing tone caressed my ears, filling my heart with relief and joy. I tried to turn my head, but a sharp pain shot through my neck, making me wince. Bruno's gentle hands cradled my face, holding me still. "Don't move, my love. You're safe now."
