Chapter Sixty Two : Tell Me The Truth
Veronica’s POV
I woke up to find Bruno standing over me, his eyes fixed intently on mine. He was fully dressed, his expression grave, and his presence seemed to fill the entire room. The seriousness in his gaze sent a shiver down my spine, and I instinctively knew that something was wrong.
"Bruno, what is it?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, as I slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes.
His expression didn't change, but his voice was low and urgent. "Veronica, we need to talk. Now."
Bruno's eyes bore into mine, his voice low and grave. "Veronica, the numbers don't lie. You're three days overdue for your period, and you missed the last one entirely. I think we need to face the possibility that you might be pregnant."
