Because she was afraid of bumping into Oliver Donald, Samantha Huntington hurried home. By the time Oliver Donald had finished his company affairs and returned to the house, he found only an empty and quiet room, devoid of that small figure on the bed.
Samantha Huntington, on the other hand, had already arrived at her own home. She had mentally prepared herself, as it had been a long time since she last stayed there, and no one in her family had ever asked where she was living or how she was doing. Standing at the door for a while, Samantha Huntington finally entered the password and pushed open the door. She had expected a stormy welcome, but instead, the house was pitch black, with not a single person around, even the cook was absent.
