Piper looked at her watch as she stood by her car. “I feel like I need to do something to keep Will awake for a while. He’s looking really sleepy after all the activity at Meadow’s, but if he falls asleep now, he’ll be all messed up tonight.”
“Do you have your stroller with you?”
Piper nodded. “I keep an umbrella stroller in the trunk now, just in case.”
“Why don’t you drive next door to my place and park?” suggested Beatrice. “Then we can take Will on a stroller ride downtown. He’s always so alert when we go on rides. It should keep him awake for a while.”
Piper thought that was a great idea. Minutes later, they set out for downtown Dappled Hills. Beatrice quickly went inside for Noo-noo, feeling that her corgi could also stand to stretch her short legs.
