🐺 Bound by the Moon — Chapter One: The Wolf in the Woods --- Chapter One: The Wolf in the Woods The wind bit at Amara’s skin as she stepped off the bus and into the quiet town of Hollow Creek. Her sneakers crunched on gravel, the only sound in the empty parking lot. The forest loomed just beyond the road, thick with shadows and secrets. She tightened her jacket. Great. New town, new school, same weird dreams. For weeks now, she had seen him in her sleep—a pair of silver eyes glowing in the dark, a voice whispering her name from somewhere just beyond the trees. And last night, the dreams changed. This time, he stepped out of the shadows. --- “Amara Blake?” a voice called from behind her. She turned to find a short, wide-eyed woman smiling nervously beside an old pickup truck. “I’m Mrs. Tilda,” she said. “Your foster placement.” Right, Amara thought. New town, new home, no friends. Perfect. --- The drive through Hollow Creek was silent, except for the humming of the tires and the occasional howl from the woods. "You’ll start school tomorrow," Mrs. Tilda said. "You’ll meet a lot of…interesting people." Amara raised an eyebrow. “Interesting?” Mrs. Tilda only smiled. “You’ll see.” --- That night, the dreams returned. But this time…he was closer. He stood on a cliff beneath the blood moon, watching her with hunger and pain in his eyes. "You're mine, Amara," he whispered. "Whether you want it or not." She jolted awake, gasping. A low growl echoed outside her windows --- In the moonlight, just beyond the tree line, silver eyes glinted from the dark. Watching her. Waiting. --- 🌕 End of Chapter One
