The Antebellum

After the fairies threaten everyone, there arises a conflict. We have a short army. We need support from other kingdoms. Only the slaves of fairies are here. After fairies rejected to cooperate, we need to contact the kingdoms to convince them to give us support. This is the tricky thing, in my opinion. 

Goblins are the ones who lived under the ground. They purchased the goods in the black market for their inventions. They made their hidden world where they experiment with no one's interference. Today they came forward just for the sake of the people of Silverwood. I am confused. This world is way ahead of technology. Yet they are unaware of the process of making crystals. It's like they couldn't figure it out. Like something restricting them from discovering it.

Now that they know the science behind the crystalline substance, the excitement and the speed of their innovative invention accelerated. On the other hand, Mina lost her power. That is confusing. Once she was able to do spells and after a few hours, she was unable to. We are waiting for Arun for the answer to that. Oh no, Arun is not that intelligent, who can give us the answer. But to whom he went to bring, can. He went to the kingdom of Sprites. The old Sprite was the spells teacher of elves. He must have known the answers to this. 

"Devi!"

"Yes," I turn around and saw a goblin asking me to follow him.

I followed him. In the lab, Chang is waiting for me. He bears a strange expression on his face. There is a cage next to his table. A strange sound is coming too. But the cage is empty, from where the sound is coming. There must be something that I can not see.

"From the idea of creating crystals, we come up with this." Chang was holding a goggle. He has a weird smile on his face. 

Everyone in the lab was waiting to see whether they succeed or not. The cage is trembling and the strange sound got louder. 

"It's okay. That creature is inside the cage." 

I know, but yet I feel scared. I stepped forward and reach out to the goggle. It was so heavy. Metal frame and heavy brick red glasses. After wearing it, I realized my life was a lie. I couldn't see the beauty of that place. It feels like I've gone to another world. A dwarf with blood-red eyes, spikey teeth, messed hair, and long sharp nails was inside the cage.

"Is that..that Chordewa?" I asked.

From the information I had, the description I've heard before, and the fact that humans can't see them, I got the conclusion that it was a chordewa. 

"So you can see it? It is a success, guys." Chang says. 

"It is so heavy. I am having difficulties. Don't you have something comfortable like contact lenses?" 

My words made them fall into deep thought. Obviously, they don't know about lenses. I don't think anyone has an eye problem here. Does Gyan wear glasses? Damn! I forgot. I think he doesn't. Because on earth I had myopia but here, I can see clearly. At least I thought so. After wearing the goggle, my thought changed. Before I could not see anything.  For example, the sparkly dust in the air of the lab when they were making something. Maybe much more things will be there that I was not aware of. Just because I couldn't see it. I want to go out to see the world with HD clarity. But this goggle is somewhat uncomfortable. I think I have my lenses in my bag. That night I forgot to wear my lenses. It was my engagement night, so everyone was around me to help me out. I search through my bag and took out the lens case. Everyone got amazed after looking at it. Chang seems superexcited. I think he'll definitely create something unique.

Chang takes my goggle back and my lens too. He told me to wait for a while. Fine, till then I'll explore the preparation for the battle.

I am in the factory where they are preparing swords. They dipped it in the potions. 

"Why do they dip these swords in potions?" I ask.

"Chordewas are hard to fight. And scorpion men have a healing ability. The normal sword will do no harm to them." Mr. Lee explains. 

"These swords are different. Is that a diamond in it?"

"Yes, that sword will turn into a flaming sword when the wizard will chant a spell. The diamond in the handle will help." He says.

"About that. Mina was trying but she can not chant a spell."

"Okay... should I stop the manufacturing?"

He seems a bit upset. After a while, he said.

"Elves can use it. It will perform in both the way. The wood handle will work as a wand to them and the sword will work as it is used to."

"Wizards can do limited spells. Mostly used for making potions. If the wizard king will agree to support us, the army can be used to cast spells from the potion." I say.

"Yes, but moving objects and creating flames can also work." He says.

"It can."

After passing the hot factory, we get to a place with goblins. It is an empty hall. 

"Miss, you came. We are here to try making crystals. What do you need to make crystals?" One asks.

"Am... this is something I had made in the chemistry lab. I guess Epsom salt can work. Plus some glass beakers."

On my command, they went to work. The work started.

A pinch of science and a pinch of magic mixed together and formed something magnificent. Elves came to join the army. Almost the entire kingdom joins our hand. We went to the elf's village. We are waiting for the positive news. If Sprites will help us teach the spell to the elves, then it will be good. 

Mina went to the wizard town. Goblins have created secret portals to every kingdom. She thinks she can convince the town's head to join hands in the battle.

She returns with a huge troop. Wizards with their tanks came to volunteer. All kingdoms have their own defense system that they had established to protect themselves from witches. Wizards have tanks as their defense system. Their tanks shoot fireballs. Elves hadn't had any threat from witches, it is a myth. They do suffer a lot. They master themselves at archery. 

 Snake people were ready to do anything for their kids. So do they, whose children were abducted by the witches. Before there were the slaves of fairies in our troop. Now there are the freedom fighters. They had the ability to heal others with their generated waves. They healed the injured soldiers, now they are healthy and ready to fight again.

We see the fairies looking at our every movement. But they are unaware of our secret weapon. The lab. The three kingdoms are all together for the fight. We are waiting for the other kingdom's reply. 

Yetis were the least affected by the witches. But they were the workers at the mines. They had to work for fairies and fight in the war. Yetis has no leader. There are two tribes of them. Both the tribes sent their men to contribute to our battle. They had a condition too. They want rights for their tribes. They want their tribes to get all the facilities after winning the battle. They want a king who listens to their prayers. All the kingdom has its leader, but fairies were at the top of everyone. Yetis demand a supreme king suppressing fairies monopoly and giving them rights to set a free kingdom. They had fought many battles. For the sake of their families. Some fought because of s*****y. This time, they are ready to serve their future king. Arun denies it, but I have a strong feeling that he will be the next king. 

Why he will be the future king? This question popped in your head, right? Actually, yesterday these yetis were fighting. One said you are from a different continent. Another said the same. They wanted different sets of tents for their tribes. The argument was quite violent. But Arun solved the matter with ease. Everyone agreed to his discussion. I see that he cares for the public. And everyone listens to him too. And after he broke a curse, that turn out something else. Anyway. After that point, he has become the ultimate hope. The public hadn't decided yet. They praise me, say that I can be their queen. Even Arun said so. But I have a different feeling.

I must say, he will be the future king. He shows me all the forts of his ancestors. Once elves were the royals. His forefather were kings. Just because I am an outsider, they want me to lead. After the battle, he should be the main leader. I am overthinking. It is not sure that we'll win or not and I am thinking about the postwar. 

For Epsom salt, I have to search for that trading ship. They will not recognize me. I am in my true self. They had seen me in my elf avatar. I'll go there with Arun. Waiting for him to come. 

"Wuff.. wuff..." Plum welcomes Arun with the waggling tail. 

The griffin land on the ground. With Arun, many sprites came too. They are here to train elves to do magic. They came. Finally. 

The Sprites are with us too. It lifted my hope. The book of the magical spells is here. In the elves' kingdom, all elves participated in the magic learning course. But some are there, chosen for the war. They are getting special training. It is not fair; I am not allowed to see the special training. Arun told me to look after the kids. These kids are adorable. The way they are learning magical tricks is amazing. The joy on their face is priceless. Arun is busy. We are supposed to go find the ship. But yet nothing happened. Yetis can create ice. A kid of yeti is sitting next to me. Cute kid. He is making miniature cars, bikes, houses, and much more. But the problem is it melts. The durability of the ice is low. Yes, it is the fact. Wait, salts can work. For the war, we do need ice. And that too for a long time. We have to keep it, it will not be possible to create all the time. I think I need to meet Ritesh as well. He told me if I'll say, he will join the war as well. 

"Devi........Devi......"

Mina is running towards me. She is panting. Does something bad happen? Why was she running that recklessly towards me? Come on, answer me.

"Mina! What happened?"

"I... I..."

"Yes, you. You what?"

"I asked Henri, he said we wizards can not get that power to use the wand."

Okay... I didn't get what she said. And who is Henri?

"Henri?"

"The old sprite. The one came to teach the elves."

"Oh.. okay. He said so?"

"Yes"

"But what about that....that power.. you almost killed that lady?"

"I know. I...I don't know."

"Mina... I think you need to know your history too."

"What do you mean?"

"Frankly speaking, I feel that every kingdom has its own history. Because the public is untouched by it, it suppressed their abilities. If you go deep down, you will figure out something outstanding."

"Devi... will you come with me?"

"With you? Where?"

"To my kingdom. We'll meet the head. Maybe we can find something."

I have to find the ship, plus meet Ritesh and one more task is added now. After a sigh, I thought. Anything for her. I'll do whatever it takes me to do for these people. For the war, everyone is preparing. But what I feel is, they are preparing for a secure and happy post-war.
