Lucas and I were in my office working on the renovation project we had started a few days before. The issues with the building materials cropped up as we started working. Lucas and I were trying to solve the problem without my partner from the Azzarello company.
A knock on the door disturbed us, and before I gave permission, Emma entered the room.
“What can I do for you, Emma?” I asked. I was her Alpha, and she had permission to come to me if needed.
“I need to talk to you, Blake. In private,” she continued.
“Whatever you need to tell me, you can say in front of Lucas, Emma. There are no secrets between my Beta and me,” I said.
“Fine, by me,” Emma replied and dropped the bomb.
