CAROLINE'S POV * THIS GIRL IS ON FIRRRREEEEE. THIS GIRL IS ON FIREEEEE* My alarm started ringing and I woke up. I have an awsome alarm. I'm literally on fire. Pun intended. Its Wednesday morning. It's been four days since Phoebe left to her grandparents house and I still can't contact her. It's like she's literally gone. Sucked into oblivion. And the guilt of not saying sorry to her is eating me up alive. I did my morning routine and went down. My mom was reading through some files and I decided to walk past her to the kitchen. I have been hiding a lot of things from my mom. Yes, she knows about Damian and I, searching about those gangsters. But she doesn't know about Uncle David who is apparently doing something wrong and Uncle Elijah who is somehow involved. I know that, when she finds out she is gonna do something about it and I don't think it'll be good. That's why I'm hiding it from her for now. I'll tell her everything when the time is right. I ate my breakfast and bid my mom goodbye and went of. Elly was already outside. "UUUUURRRGGHHHHH!" I screamed in frustration "Hello to you too, Caroline" she rolled her eyes "I still wasn't able to call her. The internet there is so freaking bad" I whined as we walked out. "Hey it's fine. We'll get to her somehow. She won't be mad. Trust me." Elly reassured. Elly looked quite sceptical. Like she has problems. But I can't say what it is. "Hey Elly. You okay?" I asked her and she nodded I rolled my eyes. "Elizabeth we've been friends for years. So if I ask you 'you okay?' it means you're totally not and I'm asking you why?" I said She gave a long painful sigh. "Its Leo" My head snapped towards her. "What's Leo?" "Caroline can you for once listen and not c***k a dumb joke in the middle of a conversation?!!!" Elly burst out. My eyes widened. "Hey I always listen!...Right?" "See. Jokes again. Not everything is a joke Caroline. Especially my love life" she said and walked passed me. I stood there shocked at her outburst. My mouth slightly agape. Elly was a very patient person. She doesn't have these outbursts unless she's really stressed out. What did Leo do until she got this bad. And what did I do??!!. Someone needs to light up the mood. I trudged behind her slowly deciding to give her some space. If Phoebe had the outburst I wouldn't be this worried. Phoebe is a freaking time bomb. She gets heated up pretty fast and just burst. But Elly. She's like graceful ballerina. She's patient and thinks before she does anything. But as you know sometimes ballerinas fall when they do the wrong step. And Elly just did a wrong step. So I need to catch her before she falls... ... I reached the school and went to the field. I saw her doing some stretches and warming up. I walked up to her... "Elly?" She just glared at me as response and sat. I sighed and sat next to her. "I'm sorry. I know I can be a handful at some times but give me an honest answer. You wouldn't have me any other way, right?" I said nudging her a little. She couldn't help but smile at my statement. "Apology accepted?" "Okay. Yeah" she answered smiling. "Now. Tell me what Leo Salvatore did. I'm gonna kick his a*s. I already warned him to take good care of you" She sighed and lay down. "He's having secrets" "How do you know?" "Every time he gets calls, he goes somewhere empty and secluded to answer it. Every time I ask him he says it's a wrong number. He doesn't open up much. Always looks so stressed and disturbed. Like he's doing something wrong. And he knows it." "So...do you think he's like seeing someone else?" "NO! No, no, no, no. Definitely not. I believe that he loves me and there is no other girl. He always shows that. But he has secrets. We're a couple for months now. If he still can't trust me with his secrets. I..." she trailed of. I put a hand on her shoulder. "Its okay, Elly. Maybe he just has something that he doesn't want to tell you yet. But I trust him Elly" She looked at me, "I know that he loves you. So much. He definitely didn't do any of these to hurt you or put you in so much confusion. Maybe he's confused himself. Maybe he's in trouble. But... I believe that you can make him open up. Just...don't give up on him" I smiled at her reassuringly. She reciprocated my smile and gave me a side hug. "I won't" she said to me as my smile widened. ... After school Nick and I were walking back home since we were going to do our project. The due was this Friday and we haven't started anything yet because of his stupidity. I actually haven't spoken to him since the library incident. As far as I know Phoebe and Danielle finished it in one day. So I think we can make it if he cooperates. "So Caroline... what are we gonna do today" he asked wiggling his eyebrows. I looked at him. "Nick we are here to do our project. Not for a playdate. What are you? 4?" "Of coarse we are not gonna have a playdate. We are gonna have a very 'matured' date" he said smirking. I put my leg in front of him and he tripped and fell flat on the ground. Now it was my turn to smirk. He pouted at my response as I opened the door and went in. I opened my scarf and my skin was immediately met with the cold air. I hugged my self in hopes of getting some warmth. I walked in the kitchen to get some water. I saw a sticky note on the fridge that says, "Will be home late, Ivy". I guess I'm home alone then. Mom's out of town too. I came out of the kitchen and saw Nick lying on the couch comfortably with his socks on. I walked over and pushed his legs of the couch. "Get your stinky socks out of my couch" "Okay, princess" I narrowed my eyes at him. "Don't give me new nick names" I said to him as I turned the thermostat up to make the place warmer. "Stay here, I'm gonna get changed" "How can I stay here when you're gonna get changed. I can't let you change all alone" he said I turned towards him and gave him a death glare as he put his hands up in surrender. I got changed and came down wearing a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt which belongs to I don't know who. It was at my room. So I wore it. It's probably Ivy's. "Let's go" I said to him and ran back up. *4 hours later* "Done!" I said enthusiastically "Yeah, so now what?" Nick asked me as he lied down on my bed propping his elbows on it to balance himself. "Now, you go home" "WHAT! Caroline it's been ages since we hung out. Please can we just have like a hot chocolate and chill for awhile" I rolled my eyes "Fine. Stay here" I went down to make some hot chocolate. Took two cups and brought it up only to see Nick looking at something in his palm with a horrified look. He was so horrified that he didn't even realize me coming in. I placed the cups beside my nightstand and walked up to him... I gently patted him on his shoulder and he shouted like a 5 year old girl. "AAAAAAHHHH" "Geez, what the heck is wrong with you?" "Um...I....this..." he showed me something in a tiny little packaging. "What is this?" I asked him "That's what I'm supposed to ask you. Why the heck do you have this in your room?" "Um, first of all that's not mine and second of all what so wrong in having a tiny little packet of thing in my room?" I asked him. "You don't know what this is?" he asked me "No!" I answered feeling frustrated. "Its a...um..." "SPIT IT OUT!" "Its a c****m" My eyes widened at this. "WHAT!" I screamed. I was feeling very uncomfortable having a boy find out that there was condoms in my room which DOESN'T EVEN BELONG TO ME. "Um...where...where did you get that from?" I managed to ask him. "That bag" he pointed And his finger pointed directly to none other that Ivy Miller's bag. THAT BI***. Nick was looking at me with an uncomfortable look. I'm pretty sure that he's super confused. "That...that's not mine.....it...its Ivy's" I said sheepishly. I shut my eyes hoping the floor would just swallow me up from this embarrassment. "Oh" he said as he looked a bit relieved. It was getting quiet awkward so I decided to break the silence. "Hot coco?" I handed him the cup. He smiled and took it. He took a sip and closed his eyes savouring every drop "Ah. Just how I remember it" he said. I smiled at his reaction. We continued sipping our hot coco and silence prevailed in the room. But it wasn't an awkward silence... It was peaceful... A peaceful silence...
