Chapter 5: Saveen age 16

1341 Words
Ice water is thrown on my face and jolts me away. "Wake up, you worthless fat ass, you need to go to school," my sister Misha yelled. I sit up in bed, gasping, freaking out from the sudden shock of things. Misha chuckles. She is the firstborn, and my parents' pride and joy. She is a national cheerleader and has won so many competitions. Now she is a beauty queen who is running for Miss. Universe. She graduated from college with a Nursing degree last year. Brown hair, bright blue eyes, and the figure of a Miss. Universe to back it up to. "Oh, did a little ice water ruin your birthday? Well, I guess it's just another day for us because you were never wanted to begin with." I hear a deep laugh behind her from Trenton, her twin brother. Trenton is just as successful as my older sister, with him being well-known in the gaming world. He owns his own company and is starting to branch out into more things. He looks identical to my sister; he is just taller and has more muscle on him. "Well, you did have to wake up her lazy ass, just so she can get ready for school. It's the first day of school, and you just wouldn't wake up no matter what we did." I rolled my eyes, knowing that was a lie I am a light sleeper because of them. See, I was a product of a drunk night between my Mother and Father, and they made sure I knew about it. I will never forget when I was 7 asking my mom what we were going to do for my birthday and she replied " Why would we was to celebrate, a mistake? Saveen we never meant to have you, why keep going with Misha and Trenton are perfect?" after that I tried my best to be invisible, and if I so much as ruffled a feather with Trenton or Misha. My father would let me know real quick that it was a terrible idea. Depending on how much they whined is how much he would hit me. "Thank you, Misha, for the wake-up call. I'll get ready now. Sorry to inconvenience you both." I plastered on the best fake smile I could muster. I got up and got dressed for school. They were the same clothes from last year, but they still fit, so why would they bother getting me new clothes? State says you just have to provide new ones when you outgrow them or they are damaged, and that's just what my parents did. If it weren’t for my part-time job, I wouldn't have school supplies for this year. As I put my hair up and grab my backpack, my father walks into my room. I instantly tense and look at the floor. "Yes, sir?" he stared at me as I tried to replay what could have pissed off the twins, but I did nothing to them. " Come outside when you get the chance, it's your birthday after all, and we got you something." I look at home completely confused, and a sense of dread washes over me. " Oh, okay! Thank you, sir!" I make sure to be right behind him, and I hear Trenton chuckle. I just know this is going to suck. As we walk out the door, I see a car sitting in the street, a 1996 300zx, and it looks beat to crap and looks horrible. I see my Mother on the patio furniture, smiling, and if there is one thing my Mother doesn't do is smile. She walks over to me and says, " Well, you are 16 now and got your license 6 months ago, so we bought you A CAR!" I am taken a little aback by it, and my father dangles the keys in front of my face. As I hold out my hand, he drops them in. " Now I don't have to worry about taking you to school or picking you up; you can just take yourself. Oh! And don't you dare beg for gas money, you have a job for a reason." I look down at the keys and back at the car. The twins both got brand new cars when they turned 16, and I got this. In all honesty, I didn't even expect this. I gave my parents the biggest smile of my life, with tears in my eyes. "Thank you so much, this is the best thing you could ever have done for me!" I don't even register Misha giggling as I walk down to the car. Sure, she has seen better days, but this is now mine. I slide into the driver's seat and turn her over. It's a little rough, but it will do. I pop my head out and say my thank you and goodbye. Put her in gear and drive off down the road. I was so excited, and was about three-quarters of the way to school when my car died. "What? What's going on?" I was shocked, I should have known better that they wouldn't give me a good running car. I called my mom and she answered, " What could you possibly want?" She snapped into the phone, and I heard Misha giggle again. They knew this would happen." Um, I’m broken down on the side of the road. Can you come pick me up?" I said sheepishly, "WHAT NO THAT'S WHY I BOUGHT THAT PEACE OF s**t FOR MY PEACE OF s**t DAUGHTER FIGURE IT OUT OR WALK" she screamed in my ear and hung up. I start to cry because I should have known and kept my heart guarded more. After a good set of tears, I get out of my car and pop the hood. I have no idea what I am looking at. I hear a motorcycle driving by, and it stops. "Car troubles, pretty lady?" I look over to see Dexter McDermott on his Harley. He kills the engine and walks over. "Honestly, yes, I have no idea what I'm looking at. Of course, my parents didn't get me a working car; they got me this piece of s**t!" I let out in one breath. Dexter leans over and whistles, "I mean, she is a little rough, but this baby has some beautiful bones, just like its owner." He says, looking at me and raising his eyebrows at me. I turned to look at him, "Does that help you get laid with that stupid pick up line?" he looked at me, completely shocked. " Wow, Saveen! Never knew you were a firecracker under that quiet kid act. Damn girl, that was solid, but it never hurts to try." I look at him and grin a little. "I think your battery is just lose, let me clean it up for you and we can give it a try." I watched over him as he cleaned it up and explained to me the importance of a good connection. As he said that, he bounced his eyebrows again, and I just rolled my eyes. "Okay, give her a try." I walked over and turned the key, praying to God that it would work. She turned over just fine, and I let out a sigh of relief. Dexter slammed the hood shut, and I got out. I walked over to him and hugged him which was kind of awkward given the fact I had to jump and was hanging off his neck because this boy was a giant" Thank you Dexter you are my knight and shining armor today!" he laughed and set me down " No problem pretty lady, and its Dex to my friends" he winked at me and I blush. "Okay, thank you, Dex, see you at school!" I followed him to school and pulled in. Okay, a rough start, but the day is still young. Now is the time for my schedule. I was looking forward to art this year.
