Chapter Four: Encounter With Kisha.

748 Words
Luc has been busy with appointments and business trips around the world and the rest. His office needed his little checks and presence. He quickly dressed up and hopped in for a ride to STACK & TRAVELS. From office to office, he inspected his workers and applauded most of them for keeping up and working harder. On this ordinary Tuesday, Luc stepped into his building, nodding curtly to the receptionist with his schedule already running through his mind. He entered the office floor and saw a fair complexioned lady sitting by the window. His fast pace dulled down to a steady walk. Eyes were on him but his eyes were on someone that looked exactly like a ghost, a beautiful ghost he had once known. By the window, quietly typing away, this lady did not know what was going on nor was she paying attention to her surroundings, after all, she was taught to grow up, work hard, and take care of her family. With a soft frown of concentration on her face, something about her posture struck the founder of Stack & Travels; a gentleness, a kind of patience the world no longer showed. Her hair was tied in a low bun and a small pin shaped like a star glinted at the base of her neck. He had seen that star before. Ivy had worn exactly the same one. “Am I seeing a ghost?” He thought aloud. Luc walked over. "What is your name!?" He commanded in a bid to sound rude and more professional. She startled. "Kisha… Kisha Morel. I am one of the admin interns, sir”, she responded. “Maybe that place you were sitting does not give you enough space to do more work” “But sir”, she tried to argue but the look on his face ceased her words. He stared at her for some time. Her eyes styled with a touch of green were almost identical to Ivy’s. And when she smiled nervously, it was like a wound reopened in his chest. "You are no longer an intern," Luc said. "You are now my secretary. You will be the one in charge of everything that concerns me. Take that either as a punishment for over-resting or a promotion. Effective immediately!" She blinked. "Sir?" "Report to my office at 9 a.m. tomorrow and better not be late." He turned and walked away, trying to steady his breathing. All eyes rolled and connected to each staff while Kisha got back to work. His staff whispered behind his back. No one understood. Not even Luc. But something about Kisha had shaken the ice around his soul. Getting home, a replay of that incident took place in Luc's head and he could not just understand how he made a sharp move to trust and appoint a strange lady he never knew anything about. Maybe he is wrong, what if he's just right? Luc went back to his old wallet, one he held while leaving his village. The wallet still had Ivy's childhood passport. His hands touched the eyes on the paper, moved to the hair and there was that same star pin stuck inside her hair. He lost his appetite to eat and dressing up was a problem, so he laid with his office brown trousers and white singlets on his shaped chest in his luxurious house. The thought of his late sister drove him to sleep while his AC blew the heat off his body. On the other end, Kisha being a bit afraid is thinking of how to start this new role with this rude boss of hers. She had never worked as a secretary before and knew nothing new about the role, apart from knowing that a secretary is someone who walks around her boss with files from morning till the hour of closing at work. She was the best research queen one could ever think of and this made the education and research of her new role easier for her. From research on how to dress to work, her to carry herself to meetings with her boss and other clients, and how to handle a boss who doesn't smile at every little detail that concerns her new job. Fulfilled, she took a shower and flung her eyes into a book she had been reading before flying into the dream world to wake for the new role and to the noise of the busy city.
