“Jade, let’s go!” Skylar called out, her usual bubbly energy filling the room as she rummaged through my things in search of my bag.
“Where are we going?” I asked groggily, still not fully awake despite having gotten dressed. I hadn’t slept well the night before. My thoughts had been spinning endlessly, circling back to everything that had happened with Silas in the kitchen. I couldn’t get it out of my head—the way he looked at me, the way he touched me, the way his words burned like they were meant to stay with me forever.
