I stood there, my breath caught in my throat as Silas' cold, piercing gaze bore into me. His jaw tightened, the flicker of betrayal and hurt twisting into something far more volatile—anger.
“This ridiculous feud between you and Chris ends tonight.” I said, my voice trembling slightly as I looked him in the eye. “ You’re family. And I’m not going to be the wedge between you two. If I can show there’s no animosity, then maybe you can, too. Please, Silas… let this go.”
