Chapter 1: New girl in town

Avery, please, call me always and don't forget to update me everytime." So, my mom doesn't stop reminding me about it, I almost lost count.
"Got it, mom, don't worry about me, I know dad will take good care of me."
"Yah, I know, I'm going to miss you, honey."
"Me, too. Love you. Mom, I have to go, dad's waiting for me."
"Okay, okay, take care" (sobbing)
I chose to live with Fred, because I know my mom was not that happy, her boyfriend Charles is always going out of town for his work and I don't want my mom to feel sad because she can't go with Charles.
Anyways, my Mom just dropped me off at my dad's house, our old home, where we all live together.
"Hey, Avery!"
"Hi, Dad."
"You're even more beautiful than the last time I saw you."
"Dad, enough with the corny jokes." Then we laughed.
I went upstairs to see if it was my same old room. My room doesn't change at all, except my crib was switched with the bed.
"The sales lady chose this and I chose the color purple. I know that purple is your favorite color."
"Yah, purple is cool, thanks, dad."
"By the way, Avery, I've cleared some shelves off in the bathroom."
"Oh, right, one bathroom."
"Okay."
Then dad just walks away.
* Next Day
Today is my first day of school. I am so excited, wanna know why? Because, it will be a new environment for me, who knows, maybe this is the day that I can finally meet my soulmate. Kidding.
I saw Dad in the kitchen preparing breakfast. This is the first time that I saw him preparing food.
"Hey, Ave, good morning."
"Dad, good morning. What's up with the apron, you look cool." Then I smiled at him.
"Hey, don't get used to it." Then he smiled back at me and gave me a pancake.
"Can't believe it, a pancake?" Then we laughed.
Fred was not really a good cook, so, it's so weird to see him doing it.
"Dad, please, from now on, let me do the cooking."
"Yes, ma'am. Anyway, Ave." Then he slid a key beside my hand.
"What's this Dad?"
He just pointed something outside and I found out that it is a black Chevy truck!!
"Is that mine?" I am still in shock.
"hmm--mm."
"Oh, my! Thanks, dad, love you!" I hugged him and went directly to my truck.
"Be careful, Ave! See you later!"
I winked at my dad and he just smiled back.
Meanwhile..
It's the first day of school and I don't know how I will end this day without humiliating myself.
"Avery!" Lia called me.
"Lia, thank God, you're here. You don't know how I wish to just pop like a bubble."
"You're so funny, just be yourself."
"I'll try." (smirk)
Bell Rings ~ Biology Class, First Subject of the day.
"Okay, class. Since it's "our" first day of school, I want you to introduce yourself one by one and you also need to show us your talent or if you don't have a talent, you should tell us who your celebrity look-alike is."
What the!! What should I do?! I can't do this!!! And for God's sake I am the only one new student in this school.
"Avery, are you okay? You look pale."
"I don't know what talent I have, is this really necessary? As far as I know, I am the only one who's new in this school?"
Lia giggle
"Yes, it's necessary and you can't avoid it. Also, you have a talent, you know that." Lia winked at me.
"I know what you will show."
"What?" I asked.
"Sing."
"No, no."
"I believe in you, girl!"
*Meanwhile, someone was standing in front of me and started introducing himself.
"Brian Mendoza, ~

This guy really caught my attention. But, why is he bald? Maybe it was just his trip? But, still, his cuteness and his voice, it's like an angel singing from above. I know, you will think that I exaggerate things here, but, but....
Lia tapped me in my shoulders.
"Ave's, are you okay?"
I just stared at Lia.
"It's your turn."
"Avery Lim? Are you here?"
I raise my hand, stand up and introduce myself.
"I'm sorry, Miss Rio. Avery Lim~
Then I started singing..
The day we met

While I am singing, this bald cute guy is staring at me. I don't know, maybe because I did the same thing to him earlier.

Finally, Volleyball game is done. I am with Lia sitting on a bench in the quadrangle, just doing nothing.
"Avery!"
"Avery, wake up!"
That's the only thing I've heard and everything went black.
--- Clinic
Where am I? I looked around and saw Brian was talking to the nurse.
"Is she okay?"
"Yes, definitely, it's just that she is over-fatigued as well."
I finally stood up from the bed and Brian saw me.
"Wait." He said.
"I am fine. It's just a very tiring day, sorry if it causes you trouble."
Brian smiled at me and said "I am the one who needs to say sorry, are you sure, you're okay?"
"Yeah, I just need to go home, please. Where's Lia?"
"Avery, I'm here."
"Lia, can you drive my truck?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Thanks, nurse and Brian, bye."

“Avery, are you sure you're okay?”
I saw that Lia was really worried about me.
“Yeah, I just can’t stop thinking about what really happened. I just heard voices calling my name, then I don’t know.” I look at Lia and smirk.
“If you just saw how Brian carried you to the clinic, it’s just like a prince, saving his princess.”
“Hey, stop exaggerating things.”
“Avery, if you just only knew Brian, you don’t dare to stare at him on your very first day, you are so brave.”
I gave Lia a confused face.
“Why? I don’t get it.”
“Way back, freshman days, Brian was untouchable, no one dared to be near them or talk to them. like he is a mafia"
“And then?”
“And then, you came.”
I still can’t believe it, for me Brian was just like an ordinary guy.
“Okay, we’re here.” Lia said.
“Thanks, Lia.”

FINALLY HOME!!!!
The first day ended with the introduction and showing some talents. But, I can't stop thinking of this cute bald guy, Brian Mendoza. I still can’t believe that Lia said he looks like a mafia, hmm..
I just need to get some rest, maybe I was overthinking because of what happened today.
