I swallowed thickly as he moved closer to me, no one has ever been able to evoke fear in me like this man does. And the craziest part? He doesn’t have to do or say much.

After everything that Lily had told me since I got here, I just knew that he wasn’t someone to be played around with or anything, he’s a beast.

“What are you doing out here? Checking the surrounding to see the easiest way you’d make your allies attack us?” He asked me, his dark eyes sweeping me over. I didn’t even know what exactly he saw in me that made him think I was a spy.

I cleared my throat, “I’m not a spy, and I also don’t have alliance with any group that can harm the pack.” I told him, trying so hard to keep my voice stable even though I felt scared.

“What’s your name again?” He asked me suddenly.

“Esmeralda.” I answered him, looking at anywhere else but him. His eyes were just too dark and scary to look into.

“Whatever. The next time I see you on my floor or anywhere around my room, I’d cut off your legs. I hate anyone who has ever been in contact with that useless king. And you’re luckily Lily wants to give you a chance, I’d have thrown you out since.”

Wait, he really hates me because he can sense that I’m affiliated with Thorne? How did he even know that? I didn’t tell anyone yet, even Lily doesn’t know this about me yet. She just knows that I had a mate, and that information was due to a slip of my tongue.

“H-how did you know?” I couldn’t just help but ask, I was scared of him, but I couldn’t hold back from asking him that question.

“You were smelling of him, you still even do. I don’t care to know what you had to do with him, but just make sure I never see you again.” He said then walked away.

This guy definitely isn’t just anyone then, his sense of smell must be very peak. No one else smelled Thorne on me, how could he then? My hand went to my stomach instinctively.

Wait, could it be that? No, it can’t be. He’d have talked if it was that he could sense that Thorne’s pup was growing in me. Whoever this guy is, I don’t wish to ever cross path with him in this house again.

I woke up in the morning with the sudden urge to throw up, I had to run into the toilet that I share with three other people since I don’t have a personal room yet. I’ve been feeling really sick and nauseous since last night.

I met the two other people that I share the restroom with in there, they both stopped talking as soon as I ran into the cubicle. I couldn’t see their facial expressions but I couldn’t tell that they were disgusted at me.

“Hey, new girl. What’s your name?” One of them asked me after I had finished washing my mouth.

“Esmeralda.” I managed to mumble.

“What kind of name is that? Is that the name of a person? It’s quite funny if you ask me.” The girl said.

I could sense that she wasn’t saying the truth at all, she was just trying to make fun of my name.

“Me too, I’ve never heard it before.” The other girl said, she particularly seemed to not really like me at all. It was very obvious with the way she glared hard at me. I’ve not even see these two before.

I tried to leave but was dragged back by the wrist. “We’re not done with you, don’t you dare walk out on us.”

“What do you want with me?” I asked them, already tired of their back and fourth.

“We just want to tell you to watch your back. I don’t know who you think you are that we’ll be the ones to hunt for the food you eat. I hate lazy people so much.” The one who talked to me first said.

“And you better stay away from Killian. I don’t ever want to see you near him again.” The one who was glaring at me earlier said then they walked out on me.

Wait, who’s even Killian? Do I know who that is? Those two are definitely crazy.

With that, I walked out the restroom and went away with my daily activities. The day moved so slowly, I was getting really bored with the probation and all here, nobody even talks to me except Lily. It’s almost like I’m a plague or something.

I watched as they all trained, I was only allowed to watch them do things. Since that night, I’ve not seen the alpha and I’ve been really praying not to.

Lily matched over to me, breaking my line of thoughts. “Get up, you’re allowed to train with us now.” She told me.

Finally. I could do something with them. I got ready for that, changed into some training gears that Lily gave me then started running laps round the field like I was told by Carson.

For the first time in days, the alpha finally decided to join us for training. He didn’t do anything but watch us train, though I felt like he was here to watch me train specifically because his eyes were on me all through.

I also learnt that he was the Killian that lady was warning me about. After being scrutinized for hours, we called it a day. I totally forgot that tonight is the full moon till I felt my wolf that I had locked away since that rejection move.

I felt something else move in me, making me really restless. My entire body wasn’t stable, it felt like a part of me was wandering or something. What’s going on?

I heard something behind my window and I went towards it, my heart dipped when I came in contact with the most shiny eyes I’ve ever came in contact with. It wasn’t someone, but a wolf. And it wasn’t just any wolf but Killian’s.

The wolf nudged its head, urging me to come outside.
