Chapter 009

All through the night, I didn’t sleep well. I just kept thinking about what Killian said, I didn’t want to believe that he felt the pull too. It definitely wasn’t a mate bond or something, the mate bond feels more intense than this.

But the one between us is also very crazy, it’s almost like I’m drawn to him, or there’s something about him that I should know.

I also know that he feels the same way too, because the way he talked last night made it obvious that he hated the fact that I affect him. What exactly is going on?

After lots of turning on my bed, I finally fell asleep. But I woke up in a pool of sweat this morning after dreaming about my father. I miss that man so much.

I felt the urge to pee, so I walked over to the restroom, but I heard those two girls again.

“I still don’t know what he sees in her. She’s a very normal girl who just sits around and wait for the next meal. Gosh! She’s so pathetic. She doesn’t even have to really try for me to just hate her so much.”

I stood behind the door, my scent already concealed by my wolf who seemed to have known that I needed to eavesdrop on some certain people and I wouldn’t want to make them see me or something.

“What do we do about her now? And how did you even see them last night?”

It was just those two ladies that I shared the restroom with. At this point, I don’t even think they try to hide the fact that they’re gossiping about me from me. Because if they were, they wouldn’t be talking in the restroom at all.

“I woke up to pee in the midnight and I saw them so close. I’ve been trying to get him to notice me since the first day I got here a year ago and he didn’t. But she already got him to notice her from the first day she got here. That girl is a witch, I’m sure she has put a spell on him.”

My mouth was wide open as I heard her say that. How can anyone be this crazy?

“Aurora, you have to calm down at this point. You already mentioned that Killian’s eyes are on her. You don’t want to provoke him by going for her, just make him see reasons to hate her.” The other girl said.

“No, I want her dead.”

Fear gripped me and I covered my mouth to stop myself from making any sound.

“No, we’re not doing that. We’ll teach her a lesson that’ll make her never go near him again, we’re not killing anyone.” Her friend said.

“But we’ll hurt her, I want her to be hurt so badly. I want Killian to be mine, and she can’t just come out of nowhere and steal him from me like that.”

I’ve never heard someone talk about me with so much spite in their voice. I couldn’t stand there any longer, I walked away with my legs shaking because of the kind of fear that was coursing through me.

What just happened back there meant that I really need to be careful around here. But before that, I need to take it up to someone, preferably Lily.

Though that would mean that she’ll know about what happened last night, telling her is also very important for my safety. She’d at least know that something had been wrong, in case anything bad happens to me.

With that, I walked towards the place where Lily frequents the most, the training grounds. I saw that she was talking with Killian and Carson and they seemed to be in the middle of something important, but I knew that if I didn’t tell Lily about it now, I wouldn’t tell her again.

“Lily, please I need to speak with you. It’s very important please.” I told her, using a tone of urgency too.

“Uh, I’m kind of really busy right now. Just give me some minutes to round up.”

I wouldn’t want to tell her again if I don’t do so now, and I also know that too. I’m quick to change my mind on a lot of issues.

But what if she doesn’t believe me? What if she believes those ladies over me? After all, they’ve been here before me.

“Please-“ I was cut off with a growl from Carson.

“Are you deaf or something? Didn’t you hear her say she’s busy? Just look for somewhere to sit and wait for her or something, just get out of here alrea-“ Lily cut him off.

“No, you’ll not talk to her like that. She’s not your child, Carson.”

“What? She’s so annoying, and I really don’t know why you can’t see past her fake-“ Killian was the one who interrupted him this time around.

“Leave it, Carson.” Killian told him simply.

“You really should watch how you talk to people, Carson. Not every rogue girl is Aurora.” Lily said to him angrily then took my hand and walked away with me.

Aurora? Wasn’t that the same girl who wants me dead? What’s her relationship with Carson now?

“I’m sorry for interrupting you guys conversation, it’s just that I have to say this now or I might bottle it up forever.” I started.

I felt someone’s intense stare on my back and I just knew that it was Killain. I could literally tell where he was without looking back, that’s how crazy that pull was.

I told Lily everything I just overheard, slightly lying that Aurora must have just seen me walking past Killian and assumed that he was talking to me. But I told her everything they said in details.

“That b*tch! She’s really crazy, does she even think Killian looks her away? She rejected her own mate for him and now she wants to kill you over him?!” Lily growled angrily.

“Lily, please calm down. I don’t want them to know that I was eavesdropping, I just thought I’d let you know.” I said.

“I’m going to teach her a lesson, and if a single hair goes out of place on your head, she’ll have me to face. That b*tch rejected Carson for Killian and the poor boy doesn’t even know. He still thinks it’s because he’s not enough!”

Wow, that really sounds like a lot.
