Chapter 013

~~Esmeralda~~ My eyes widened at what he said. My brain didn’t grasp the information well at first, but the moment I did, fear found its way to my body My breath hitched. Did he just say…. Die? It felt as though every emotion that I didn’t really used to feel before were all what I felt more since I got here, especially whenever Killian was around me. “What? Die? What the hell do you mean by that?” I asked him. “Whatever pull is between us isn’t close to healthy, you can’t get close to me because I’ll burn you. It’s better the pull is severed now that we’re both still sane.” He answered me. I frowned a bit at what he said, not seeming to understand what he meant by that. It was as though he was speaking in parables. I shifted uncomfortably as his eyes settled on my body. His stare at me got so intense and I felt like he had even forgotten that he was talking to me. Killian didn’t look like someone who’d lose focus that way, he was always so focused. The moment I cleared my throat, he came back to reality but his eyes became really dark and anger overtook his features. His eyes flashed a colour different from the normal colour which meant that his wolf was on the surface. I looked downwards a bit to see his fists tightened, making me swallow deeply. “You won’t last long here.” He almost ran off after he said that, I barely even saw him walk, it was like he teleported or something. I stared at the same direction he walked to, my head reeling with a lot of thoughts. I was too deep in thought that I didn’t even see or sense that I wasn’t alone in the hallway anymore. I shrieked when I saw Aurora and her friend, they came to stand before me. And with the look of things, it didn’t look like they just got there. “What do you think you’re doing with him?” Aurora asked, sounding so calm but the murderous look on her face didn’t depict yet calmness at all. “I don’t answer to you.” I answered curtly, crossing my hands across my upper body. Aurora looked at her friend with shock evident on her face, a scoff followed that. “Did you see that? She just talked back at me.” She told her friend, looking back at me with all the anger and hate she could muster. “Look, I became rogue because of Killian, I want him that bad. Even death can’t separate me from him. Just desist from whatever it is you think you’re doing, it won’t end well for both of us.” She said. I let out a very loud laughter, I laughed till my stomach hurts me and I couldn’t go on anymore. “Hold up, you decided to go full rogue because of a man and he hasn’t even acknowledged your existence since you finally joined his pack. That actually sounds very pathetic.” I laughed even more. She looked shocked at first, then anger took over after what I just said. Her friend was even more surprised, guess they didn’t know I could talk. They’ve not even anything yet. “I now see why you’re so mad at seeing me with him, it must really hurt you to see that he mightn’t even know your name, yet you sacrificed a lot for him, including your own pack and mate.” I said. She moved closer to me, her hand suspended in mid air as she made a move to strike me across the face. I wasn’t even scared of her one bit, nor did I move back at all. “Aurora! You can’t do that, you know you’re on ‘warning’. Any misconduct can get you kicked out of this pack completely. Don’t do this.” Her friend stopped her before she could try it, holding her hand midway. And I really wanted her to slap me, I was more than ready to slap her back. Maybe if I retaliated back, she’d know that I wasn’t just a little girl who hides behind Lily for protection. “Just so you know, I hate you so much and I want you to burn to death. I detest you, and I’ll do anything to get you out of this pack and earth. F*ck you!” I chuckled darkly, “The feeling is definitely mutual, sweetheart.” The endearing word was just to get her riled up, I didn’t mean it one bit. “And maybe you should look for other hobbies, other than chasing after someone who doesn’t know you. You’re just a crazy obsessed person who have no life ambitions, that’s the only thing I know about you.” I fired back. She and her friend were taken aback, definitely not expecting that kind of response from me. Her friend pushed her behind her then stepped forward to me, her eyes glimmering with anger. “Aurora might not be able to deal with you because of her records, but I can-“ I cut her off. “You aren’t also excluded from this. You’re only known as her friend and nothing more. Do you want to die being her minion? You both should get a life, then you can come back to talk to me. But for now, I’m out of here. And if you dare come after me, I’ll show you the reason I have my wolf locked up for now.” I slipped some tone of threat into my voice, making sure they got the meaning of what I said before walking away. They didn’t come after me, but they were both quiet till I got to my room. I was soon back on the training grounds. I trained on my own, invisible fighting away all the pent up anger in me. I felt like forgetting everything that had happened since I got here, then starting afresh again. After training like my life depended on it, I went back to the pack house, then panic hit me all at once. I felt like I was meant to be at place, like I was meant to be doing something at the moment. A sense of urgency came up in me and I instantly felt like something was wrong somewhere. I saw Lily running into the pack house and I ran behind her. “Lily! What happened?” I asked her. “It’s Killian, he has gone out of control. This barely happens on a normal day other than the night of the full moon. Carson and the other warriors are even finding it hard to chain him down.” She told me as we ran towards his room together. I felt an insane pull towards the room, my insides twisted as we entered the room. I was already inside before Lily could stop me. And the moment I got in, the same beast who came to me that night looked right into my eyes.
