~~Killian~~
My head felt foggy as I laid in the room, the smell of wolfsbane very heavy in the room. I was too weak to move or do anything, I just laid there with my eyes staring at the ceiling of my room.
Even the roof was badly damaged, the room was really in ruins. I really did a lot in here. And while I was aware of the things that I did, I wasn’t in my right mind at the time.
I had one of the most gruesome shift ever today. The last time I did a partial shift was years ago. I’ve locked away those powers and traits for a while now, and I didn’t even think that I would unlock them anytime soon.
But the moment she stepped into this place, I felt the hold on that constraint tighten and I just knew that something was wrong from that moment.
I badly wanted to avoid anything that had to do with her, but it wasn’t possible at all because she was ingrained in my memory way faster than I could ever imagine.
Esmeralda would be the end of me, she’d cause a lot of destruction in my life and I knew it already. It was really time for me to send her away, she’d be fine on her own. Or I could link her up with some of my alpha friends and make her join their pack.
But she wouldn’t be able to stay here again. At the thought of sending her away from the pack, my beast turned inside of me. The wolfsbane had sent it back inside and it had been quiet ever since then, but it turned just now.
It was the morning after that event, and I felt like I had been run over by a thousand trucks. I don’t even really feel weak, but what I felt was the highest level of tiredness I’ve ever hit.
I dragged my tired body from the ground. I felt stronger as soon as I stood up, and I didn’t want to believe that it was because I realized that there were still traces of Esmeralda’s scent in the air.
Last night was very crazy. I haven’t lost control like that in years. Not even when I was rejected by my two mates. And when the partial shift happened, all that I could think about was Esmeralda again.
She was the cause of the partial shift to begin with. I was a male warrior talking to her, he was showing her some training techniques.
For the first time in years again, I felt so jealous. I never for once thought that I’d feel so possessive of someone. I felt like tearing apart the guy.
And while I was in that partial shift, he tried to chain me up again. The kind of fury that overtook me was one I’ve never felt before, I tore him apart just like I wanted to do.
He was all over her, and that didn’t sit well with either my wolf or my beast. I didn’t even know when the beast took over. It was in the process of forcing it back that I got stuck in partial shift.
I hadn’t experienced that in a while now, my beast had been suppressed for some reasons. But it was on the surface at the moment.
Just as I opened the door of my room, I saw Lily about to open the same door too. She had a box of first aid and another wolf carrying a tray of food behind her.
“You’re awake already. That’s even good. Let me treat your wounds.” She said.
“I don’t need that, I’m all healed already.” I told her.
She looked at me from my head to my toe, surprise filling her eyes.
“Oops! I completely forgot that you’re the alpha and you heal really fast. Take this back, please. And bring the food, you can leave with this already.” Lily told the girl who came with her and we were soon left alone.
She entered my room with the food, looking around as soon as she stepped in.
“What happened yesterday, Killian? You said the beast was suppressed already.” She asked me immediately.
“It came out itself, I guess.”
“That’s a lie. Does this have anything to do with Esmeralda?”
At the mention of that name, my jaw clenched hard.
“What do you want here, Lily?” I asked her.
“You really won’t tell me anything? Are you serious right now? Do you know how what happened yesterday took its toll on us? You injured a lot of warriors, Killian, including your second in command and best friend.”
“What exactly is going on between you and Esmeralda? Don’t think I’ve not noticed the tension between you two since the day she got here. Did you know her from anywhere?” She bombarded me with questions.
I moved away from her, my fists clenched as anger coursed through me.
“There’s nothing you need to know.” I said then walked out, leaving her in the room. I knew she was going to query me by the time I got back, but I had to leave first.
I walked out of the pack house, having it in mind to go on a run. My wolf needed to be let out. I was about to shift when I caught sight of Esmeralda again.
She was training on her own, and as if she knew I was staring at her, she stopped. I wasted no time in jogging over to her. At the point, it felt like the pull just controlled me entirely.
“I need you to leave my pack.” I said to her as I got there. She turned around, her sharp brown eyes boring into mine.
“I’m not afraid of you, Killian.” Was what she said.
“Then you’re stupid if you’re not scared at this point. Maybe not today, but tomorrow or any other day, you might end up dead because of me.” I said.
She stepped closer to me, “Then why didn’t you kill me earlier?”
Our breath mingled due to how close we were, my eyes traveled from her eyes to her lips. I felt the insane urge to claim them, they called out to me like I used to crave for blood.
Esmeralda is really going to be the death of me.
