Morning came too early and felt heavier than usual.
I woke up to sunlight pouring in through the window, my body achy from a troubled night’s sleep and the stress from the previous evening still lingering. For a moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, replaying the chaos in my mind. The race. Viktor’s anger. Jaxon and Maddox nearly coming to blows and Ronan’s calm but disappointed expression.
I’d caused all of that.
