The emergency alert stayed on my watch for several seconds before the screen went dark.
Steele Island attacked.
I looked toward the burning yacht in the distance, then back at Vivienne.
She had seen the message on my face before I even spoke.
"What happened?"
I took a slow breath.
"Steele Island was attacked."
She was quiet for a moment.
Then, to my surprise, she reached over and switched off my watch.
"Vivienne..."
She gently placed her hand over mine.
"We've spent our entire marriage running toward disasters."
I looked at her.
"The island can wait another hour. Your security team is already there. Carter is there too. If they need you, they'll call again."

"I don't want our vacation to end because Victor wants our attention."
