Reincarnation

- * (Eight years ago) It is 2042 of March 16th (Earth date) when a company of soldiers stopped before the marshes of Mars. This inhabitable planet has been transformed by the Olympians into a fertile planet. It has been more than a century since its fertilization, and the first colonizers from Earth started their new lives here. The surface of Mars is rich in veins of metals and other minerals that made the first city prosper in just five decades. The city was named, Ares. It is located at the foot of Olympus Mons - the outposts belonging to gods. Those three decades gave rise to the other cities to be built on the planet. While the civilization prospered, so did the work of the Olympian Army. Terrorist attacks, made by rogue gods and demigods have been rampant throughout the planet, and they forced Olympus to declare Martial Law. There have been many deaths between the two forces, and it has been growing since three years ago. The security of Mars is yet to be improved, because it is still a new settlement, and most of the best leaders and officials preferred to work on Earth. One unit sneaked through the swamp in the middle of the night. This squad of five people is tasked to slip through the marshes to report important data about the positions of the enemy camps before the main force can advance. The squad leader is the God of Gravity. They silently treaded through the swamp, until they reached dry land. That's where they round up, and the leader has to plan their approach. They feel cold, but there's nothing they could do about it. They are all wet to the boot, and the Martian weather is colder compared to the Earth. The leader is the only one who's not carrying a weapon. "It seems that all of them made it," thought the leader. He looked at all of their faces, and Phobos (a moon of Mars) lit up their faces. Under those haggard, painted faces, he can sense their fear. Their shivering wasn't caused by the cold, but of dread. The leader also feels the same, but he is the one who's responsible for all of them, so he must not falter. He nodded to signify the second part of the plan he told them earlier. They nodded back, and they split up through the thickets. The leader advanced a little further than the rest of them until he can't hear the brushing of the straws against the coats of his comrades. He can only focus on three things: The sound he creates while walking, his comrades' fates, and his own life as he found something shining brightly from the light of the Martian moon through the tall grasses. He stopped for a moment and took a deep breath. He advanced, inch by inch. He crouched down, and quietly cleared some grasses in front of him to peek at what is ahead of him. It was a camp of the enemy. He pulled a metal tube and wrote the coordinate of his location on a paper. He put it in the tube and closed it with the metal lid. He let go of it, and it came flying to where their main force is located. His other squadmates also spotted camps at their respective zones and did the same. Five metal tubes came flying through the thickets and over the swamp. It made a whizzing sound as it started to accelerate. It flew in about four kilometers until someone caught them all with her hands. Her black hair glistened under the moonlight, and her armor shined as she opened the tubes one by one. "Good boys," she said while looking through the window of her tent. Now back to where the scouting squad was. One of the scouts was desperately trying to get out fast that he made such noise. He heard the voices of the enemies, alerting others that there's an intruder. He ran very fast until he noticed that one of his mates is being tangled by plants. That man screamed until his body was pulled in half, and his guts rained down on him. Another was also caught, and he was impaled by a stalk. The fear of this man intensified. He ran ahead and he saw that some of the plants started to move. They formed a sharp point and charged towards his face. He closed his eyes and heard a loud boom. He opened his eyes and he saw his leader. "Come on!" he shouted. He followed his leader and the attacking plants were repelled by the power of the leader as he makes a repelling force from his body. It cost him all of his energy until he can't use his power anymore. Another wave of sharp plants charged and the leader pushed the man to the swamp. The man made a significant distance from whence he came and heard a loud scream. He looked back as he ran, and it was his leader that is torn in half, lit up by the moon for him to see. He cried and continued to run. Then he saw a man in front of him, covered with vines. He screamed in pain as the vines went inside his throat. The swamp echoed with sorrows of dead men. * - This is when I was still 10 years old. I was sitting on the swing of the playground while watching other children play. I am alone with myself because they said that I am a nerd. And they don't like nerds. I just enjoyed my time on the swing. Suddenly, someone pushed me from behind, and I swung too high that I slipped. "Ahhhh!" I screamed as I covered my face as I am about to crash on the ground. I felt a force inside my body. It felt like it is pushing out of me. I opened my eyes and I saw the ground. I am not touching it. "What?" I asked as I looked at my body. Not one part of my body is touching on the ground! I am flying! I suddenly fell down. "Ouch...," I said as my face hit the ground, and my glasses are broken. I looked at the children who were behind the swing. I am guessing one of those three pushed me. I can't make out who they are, because my vision is blurry without my glasses. Something warm is trickling from my forehead. I touched it and saw my hand, red. "You went too far with it man!" said a boy. "I didn't mean to push it too hard!" "Well, let's just get out of here!" They all went away and I walked home. I washed my forehead with the tap water, and I saw my blood mixing with the water. "Leo!" called my mom from the staircase. "What happened to you? You are bleeding." "It's nothing, mom. I just tripped and fell down with my face." "You almost lost your eye!" She put a disinfectant on my forehead and put a bandage on it. I used my old glasses, but it is a little off from my present grade. It is just fine in a way that I can read the words near me. I watched TV and saw that there's a new King of Olympus now. "All hail Rai! The God of Wind, and the new King of Olympus!" said the announcer. And wow! It's Rai! I knew that he's gonna be the next King! I frowned a little as I realized I can't be as strong as Rai, even if I practice martial arts with my father. I remembered what happened at the playground when I was about to fall down very hard, but I floated for a second. What happened? Hmm... I stood up and went to the kitchen to get some soda. My foot slipped and I am out of balance. I braced myself for the impact, but I felt nothing. Then I fell on the ground after a second! Again? What is happening? I looked around, and there is no one around me. Could it be? I focused on the floor while closing my eyes, and tried to recreate the sensation I felt. I felt a force coming from my body, and a pulse disrupted the whole kitchen! What? I can't believe this! I have powers?!!!
