The God of Gravity part 1: Demigod District

A Worthy Opponent

I washed my used clothes by the stream to prepare myself for leaving this training ground. Lord Enzo disappeared again, and I don't know how he keeps doing it. It is evening and the tent also instantly disappeared, so I don't have any place to stay anymore. I have to make my own shelter for the night again, hunt something for dinner, and start a fire.

I first used my strength to cut down trees, specifically pine trees that are thin. I made a shelter out of them. I used my sense to hear and feel animals around. I sense something at my 2 o'clock, it's a big one. Maybe it's a pig!

I started to drool, and I sneaked in that direction. Wait... This doesn't smell like a pig. I sniffed the air and I realized it was a gorilla at the same time it showed itself from a tall bush from the dark. It started to grunt and beating its chest. I think it doesn't want me to be here because I sense the other gorillas at the back of the bush.

It charged towards me, but I didn't budge. I just gave it an uppercut and it flew upward. I sensed another animal, and I am sure it's a pig! I see it!

I ran fast and it ran away from me, but it can't get away! I picked up a rock and jumped ten feet in the air. I pulled my right hand where I held the rock as big as my fist, then threw it to the pig. It immediately fell down on its feet. It was very dark, and I had a problem seeing because I left my glasses at the camp before hunting. It has a scent, so finding it isn't that hard. It died instantly. The pig is fully grown! I'm gonna have a feast tonight!

I carried it on my shoulder and picked some seasoning on the way back. I sliced it into pieces, and it took me a while before finishing cooking all of it. It might not be as good as the roasted pig like before, but I ate them all, and instantly slept.

In the morning I gathered my things and went back to the academy. Hours later, I arrived at the crater, and I sensed someone. I went to the cliff of the crater, and I saw Darius. He was training and stopped as he noticed me.

"Well, if it isn't the God of Gravity," he said. "We haven't settled our fight these past months..."

"Okay, let's settle it now!" I yelled as I jumped down the cliff and leaving my things at the top. He looks surprised that I asked him. Maybe he still underestimates me.

He scoffed as I stopped in front of him. "You really wanna do this?" he asked.

"Why not?" I said while stretching my limbs. Then I saw Mr. Estevan above the cliff. I guess he is his mentor.

"I want to test my skills with him!" he shouted. Mr. Estevan nodded.

I took my stance, and he took his stance too. He's orthodox, and I can see that his build is looking a lot better than before. I need to assess his strength first.

He advanced towards me, and I see where he is gonna punch. I dodged his left jab by stepping backward, following series of combo punches, but I dodged them all. Then he jumped high! He kicked me, and I was lucky that I managed to block it. It was very powerful, that I was knocked back a couple of meters away from him. My arm is fine, but it is in pain. He charged towards me again, and this time it is faster. Punches and kicks were all connected to each other. It is like he has moves for everything I do. I tried to answer with a hook, but he dodged it, then countered me. I was just in time to use my Dimensional Touch, so the impact on my face did not hurt that much, but I was knocked down on the ground.

He smirked while looking down on me. "Weak." Then he turned his back on me and started to walk to his mentor.

"Wait!" I said and he turned around. "Fight me one more time!"

He scoffed and continued to walk.

"Are you afraid?" I said.

He turned around and said, "You really wanna get your butt kicked again, do you?"

"Heh, there wouldn't be a second time." I took my stance and I am making sure I won't lose this time.

His strength is within his combo, if I manage to destroy his flow, then things might get in my favor. This time I charged towards him, and he prepared. He's gonna do a side kick. I slowed down a bit and his kick missed.

"Fist of two:" I looked at his surprised eyes, and punched his heel. "Lion's hook!"

He was knocked back after receiving my punch from his heel, and fell rolling on the ground. My blow was hard, but it's not his vital spot, so I think that it didn't hurt him.

"Weak?" I asked. "I don't think so."

He looked at me furiously while rising from the ground. I took my stance. We approached each other cautiously. I know he is strong, and he knows I am strong. Then he dashed towards me. What is he gonna do? He just passed by me at such speed, and then I sensed an incoming punch from behind. I dodged it, and grabbed his hand on my right shoulder, and pulled it down to tackle him, but he flew up with balance. I immediately let go of his hand and blocked his kick. Then I blocked his series of kicks while in the air. I dodged the last kick, and it stopped his streak. He is finally on the ground. I took my stance, and I see that he decided to settle down for a second, so I readied myself.

I am equal to him in terms of speed, but he can do consecutive strong blows, while I cannot. I am not sure if we have the same stamina, but I can't afford to find out. I must settle this quickly. I gotta hit him in the face with my most powerful punch. I wonder if...

He charged towards me, and I kicked a stone on my feet and it hit his head. It destroyed his form, but he can't brake. This is my chance!

"Fist of two: Uppercut!"

It was a solid hit in his face, and I received a kick from him. He's knocked up in the air, and I rolled on the ground. That blow hit my cheek, and I wasn't able to dodge it.

I kneeled on the ground, and I feel that my mouth is bleeding. He fell on the ground, and his mouth is bleeding too. That was an impossible move he pulled after getting hit. No human could do that. So this is what is like fighting a demigod... It's fun.

"Yarghhhhhh!" he screamed. "I'm gonna crush you flat!"

"Bring it on!" I said as we charged to fight each other.

Estevan watched the young boys fighting against another from the cliff as he thought to himself: "I never thought I'd get to see a human fighting toe to toe against a demigod. Enzo, you finally found a great apprentice after all these years. This God of Gravity, he doesn't use his powers but depended on the technique only Enzo and the King know. This kid really is something."

The fight went on between the two. When one gets a point, the other gets revenge. It is just a never-ending fight with no clear winner until an hour later. They were all worn out. They are barely standing on their feet with bruises and swelling all over their faces.

"Pathetic!" said Darius. "You can't stand.... ugh... on your own two feet?"

Leo coughed blood. "Say that to yourself," he said as he wiped the blood from his lips using his arm. His right eye is swelling and has bruises all over his face.

"I'm gonna send you to hell!" He coughed as he limped towards him at a slow pace.

"I'll take you with me!" he answered as he charged towards him.

"Arghhhhh!" they cried, but both of them tripped and fell on the ground. They can't stand anymore.

"You fell down?" asked Darius while his face is against the ground. "Pathetic."

"Just as I said," Leo also has his face against the ground. "say that to yourself."

Estevan went to them. "Okay, boys," he said. "that's enough. Nice fight, but this is a draw. I'm gonna take both of you to the infirmary now." He checked their face and realized they fell unconscious.
