The Selfie

David Isaac looked at Chisom for a brief moment before a gentle smile spread across his face.
"Of course," he said. "I'd be happy to."
Chisom's eyes widened with excitement.
"Really?"
David nodded.
"Yes."
"Oh my goodness! Thank you so much!"
She could hardly contain her joy. With trembling hands, she quickly unlocked her phone and opened the camera.
"I've waited for this moment for so long," she admitted shyly.
David chuckled.
"Well, today is your lucky day."
He stepped closer to her, making sure they both fit perfectly into the camera frame.
Chisom could barely breathe.
I'm actually standing beside David Isaac, she thought. This is the happiest day of my life.
She raised the phone and smiled brightly.
"Ready?" she asked.
David smiled at the camera.
"Ready."
"Okay..." Chisom said happily. "Say cheese!"
Just as she was about to tap the capture button...

Chisom held her phone tightly, unable to stop smiling.
"Okay..." she said excitedly. "Say cheese!"
Both of them smiled brightly at the camera.

Splash!
Ice-cold water landed on her face.
"Ahhh!"
She screamed and jerked upright on her bed, breathing heavily.
Water dripped from her face as she looked around in confusion.
Standing beside the bed was Daniella, holding an empty cup and laughing uncontrollably.
"Oh, you're finally awake," Daniella teased. "You've been smiling in your sleep for a long time."
Chisom quickly wiped the water from her face and frowned.
"What's wrong with you?" she complained. "Couldn't you wait a few more seconds? I was about to take a selfie with David Isaac!"
Daniella laughed even harder.
"David Isaac? Seriously?"
"Yes! He agreed to take a picture with me, and you ruined everything."
"My dear sister," Daniella said between laughs, "it was only a dream."
Chisom sighed deeply.
"I know... but it felt so real."
"You really have a serious celebrity crush."
"I do," Chisom admitted with a smile.
Daniella looked at the wall clock.
"Forget about your celebrity crush for now. It's already 8:30 a.m."
Chisom's smile disappeared instantly.
"What?"
She turned towards the clock.
"Oh my God!"
She jumped off the bed immediately.
"I'm late!"
Without wasting another second, she grabbed her towel and rushed out of the room, leaving Daniella laughing behind.
The dream was over.
Reality had begun.
