Ryan twirled Violet slightly, and she caught Carl's eye across the dance floor. The look on his face as he watched them was something Violet did not recognize. They turned again and Carl was blocked from her sight, but that feeling did not leave her. Sometimes, the bond between them was a little frightening. It was hard to tell which of her feelings were real and which were due to the bond going into overdrive.
When the song ended, Violet went searching for the food table. By the time she got back with a plate full of treats, Blake was sitting in her seat beside Carl, telling him some angry story.
"The creepy guy is coming over," Tiara whispered across the table. "Somebody dance with me, quick!"
