Benjamin on the other hand had no intention nor did he ever plan on staying at the asylum for long, the doctors weren’t going to let him leave, the guards even less so, and if they did let him go by some miracle there was nowhere he can go, first of all, he’d need a boat since the asylum itself was on an island and boats and asylums don’t go together, therefore boats were scarce, not only that but they would search for him everywhere he went, and besides everything that has happened the world seemed different, everyone worshiping the Empire and everybody having SPQR armbands on their left hand, the world was different from what he knew he would get lost if he was on his own, so he had an idea how to get Elizabeth to come and get him, he would use some time travel trickery.
