“You do?” Alpha Nolan seemed even more amused.
I stared at the delicacy before me, tempted to dig into its glory, but I knew the food might be poisoned.
“Yes. After my ‘rest’, as you called it, you knew I wouldn’t give in, so you devised another way to break me. You think kindness and hospitality will break my walls and give you the information you desire, but let me tell you something…” I leaned closer, as if I could be near him despite the distance and the separation by the large rectangular table. “You would get nothing.
