The laughter started small, a tentative chuckle from Emma as she sat on the floor of her kitchen surrounded by open boxes of mismatched utensils. She had meant to reorganize her cabinets but instead found herself in an impromptu trip down memory lane. Rose sat cross-legged beside her, examining an old egg whisk with wide-eyed fascination. “Mommy, what is this for?” Rose twirled the whisk in her hand, her curls bouncing. “It’s a whisk, sweetheart.
