Anda Samuel smiled as she reached the finish line raising her flag to signal she was the first.
It was another win for her. It was almost becoming a routine.
She can still feel the euphoria vibrating through her body and her racing heart was a remainder that no one. Nothing was more important in life than being in a track racing.
She loved racing. It was her life. Car, Horse, Bike, Ship and even Bicycle race. She was all for anything that would keep her in track.
"That's another win and money in our account" Adam took her helmet from her.
Adam was her bestfriend and Manager who introduced her to racing. He was once a race champion until he got into an accident that almost claimed his life. Since then,He only hung around Race tracks until he saw someone familiar repairing motorcycles.
He approached Anda and Promised to make her the best racer if she wanted.
And he did.it became part of Mirianda. It became her addiction.Racing became a part of her.
"Miranda De Costa" Baron called approaching them.Baron was the host of the races and everyone was scared of him.
"It's Anda Samuel now" Miranda smiled sitting on the bike.
"I still remember the first day you came to my automobile shop looking for a job.. it took me six months to find out you were a princess" Baron smiled.
"I'm not a princess" Anda rolled her eyes.
"And now.. you're my most treasured female racer, The fastest one" He kissed her cheeks.
"Why won't you let me contest with the guys? I never pegged you to be a sexist" Anda said.
"You want to race with men? Wow.. Adam, This one is wild.. it's good to be young and wild"Baron laughed.
" I'm not young, I'm twenty-six"She smiled.
" There's a Boat race at UK in the weekend, Felix needs an assistant and if you're interested, you could join him.. it's a 70/30 split"Baron said.
" I'll be there Baron"Miranda hugged the older man.
" I'm going to see my sponsors.. see you on Saturday"Baron said and walked away.
" Did you hear that? How long have it been since I got into a boat? Three weeks and that's the longest in my life.. let's go home and party"Anda led Adam out of the track.
" Sometimes I forget that you're a princess"Adam shook his head as they got into her truck.
" I'm not a damn Princess.. "Anda glared at him.
" A prime minister's daughter in Dullard is royalty and a princess.. Miranda De Costa"Adam teased.
" Don't call me that.. makes it seem like my Dad is somewhere looking at me in contempt"Anda laughed as she drove down the street of new York.
" A woman who drives a truck instead of a car, Will you ever get married? "Adam asked.
" Why should I? No man will ever make my heart race like I'm in a track"Anda replied laughing.
She stopped the car and Adam got off.
" Bye.. see you tomorrow"Adam waved and entered his workshop. Anda drove down the street to her own studio apartment.
She walked down into the poor neigbour hood. Out of sight and out if trouble.
Immediately she got a degree in buisness, She'd shipped it off to her father and gone to lectures one day without coming back.
She had dyed her hair black and drove out of Manhattan ditching the car in the middle of the road.
It took her a week to change the name on her identity card from Miranda Vera De Costa to Anda Samuel.
She had gone to Las Vegas and hid for a year before going back to New York and gotten a job through Adam.it was the best decision of her life.
Perfect Balcony.Building out of view.the perfect hiding spot.she whistled as she opened her door feeling the air before closing the door.
She stare at the jet black haired woman sitting on her bed.
"Judith..you haven't grown a day older" Anda whispered staring at her father's secretary.
The woman who her father treasured above all.His personal Assistant,Bodyguard, secretary and mistress. The woman even her mother was scared of.
It only meant one thing. She has been found and it meant her dad wanted her home.
"we are leaving" Judith stood up.
"Always precise abd straight to the point ain't you..problem Is that I'm not leaving..I can't leave my friends..tell my dad,I'll come home in the weekend after I say goodbye" Anda dropped my backpack pulling off my shoes.
"Even ten minutes is enough time for you to disappear just as you always have whenever you're found..do you know how long it took us to find you and seriously..I applaud your choice of hiding spot" Judith said.
"What can I say?I have quick wits but I don't just know why I didn't believe my instinct today" Anda looked around.
Judith was the only one in the room which meant she had a chance.all she needed was the right timing.
" Don't bother...we took the gun teasers,Pepper spray,Water gun and even the whip..damn Anda "Judith said shaking her head.
" You went through my stuff?that's deeply insulting and Sick"Anda Went to her wardrobe searching for the Golf Club she always left there.
There it is.
She took it and hit Judith on the shin catching her off guard. She butt headed her nose apologizing as Judith cursed in pain before hitting Judith's head against the wall.
"Sorry but I'm not going back" Anda picked the duffle bag she always had prepared and jumped off the balcony. When she said she loved balconies. It actually served as an escape route.
Always.
Bye block 21,She waved as she entered her motorcycle driving out if there street.
No matter whatever it took in her life she was never going back to Dullard. She would never give up this life.
No.
Never
