Miranda removed her shoes as she walked steadily into her father's office. She barely took in the house she grew up in as it still gave her shivers.
Her father was sitting on his chair typing in his computer when she pushed the door open.
"Miranda" Samuel De Costa smiled standing up to hug her daughter who he hadn't seen for six years.
"Father, Can you explain why you dragged me away from work to come back home?" Anda demanded gently pushing her father away to sit on his seat.
"Mirinda.. oh my God . You look perfectly Good.. More georgous and beautiful since the last time I set my eyes on you.. you've grown into a full beautiful woman" Samuel stared in awe.
"Ripe enough to be sold off?"Anda glared at her father.
"Anda.. we made a deal, Three years of freedom and you disappeared suddenly and took three more years, You love had enough fun and seriously we have missed you" Samuel smiled.
The door opened and April De Costa walked in. Anda stared at her mother. She even looked younger than she looked six years ago. Is there something in Dullard that made their women not to ever age?.
"Mama" Anda smiled and hugged the petite woman.
"You look more beautiful and I've missed you so much my daughter.. why did you stay away from us for so long?" April hugged her daughter again.
"I was busy and I still am.. so why did you invite me home? I would like to go back tomorrow since I have something important to do" Anda smiled.
"You mean racing? Judith told us what you've been doing outside Dullard and how you've made a name for yourself both in the racing world and engineering field. That is enough fun" Samuel said.
"So.. why did you kidnap me to bring me back? I know, it's not because you've missed me" Anda sat down again
"You haven't told her?" April asked her husband.
"How was I supposed to? She just arrived.. it's good thing you're here now.. so tell her" Samuel told his wife.
"You're the man of the household so tell her" April urged her husband.
"Can someone talk to me please?" Anda interrupted them.
"we brought you back home for the wedding"April said.
" Yeah.. who's wedding? Aunty Lucina? Julianna? Katherina? "Anda asked.
" Yours"Samuel smiled.
" What do you mean by mine? Oh you mean Adam? Adam is not my boyfriend.. he's my manager and we don't love each other.. never will"Anda laughed.
"who's Adam? Your wedding to the Crown prince. Prince Nelson Don Fisco the third"Samuel sat on the cushion.
" Is this some sort of prank? Do we have two crown princes now? Prince Ferdinand is engaged to Katherina.. Did you guys dethrone him one day and make his younger brother the crowned prince because I know Nelson the third is the king's second son"Anda looked at them.
" Prince Ferdinand died. Rest in soul and Nelson took his position"Samuel explained.
" If I remember right.. Katherina Is supposed to get engaged to Nelson? "Anda asked.
" Well, your sister got into a bit of situation and you're going to replace her"April answered.
" Can you guys man up and give me the full story and not just clues? "Anda shouted.
" Katherina got herself pregnant and we had to marry her off to Joshua before people found out and you know the King gave us the De Costa landing exchange for her hand.. So we can't return the land right? It has the Automobile shop and car shops on it and no one wants to be the king's enemy right? "April explained.
" I'm all ears"Anda replied.
" So.. I discussed it with the king and since I have another grown up daughter.. he accepted my proposal.. you'll be replacing Katherina"Samuel said.
" Who? Me? Did you just bargain my life with a piece of land? You want to marry me off to a man I barely know just because Rina f****d up and I'm supposed to replaced her.. well no, I'm not going to marry a damn man just for your own greed.. I refuse to"Anda stood up angrily.
" Mirinda.. do this little favour for us in honor of your father, He gave you six years of freedom, Can't you repay him with this? "April held her hand.
" I didn't realize children was supposed to pay back their parents for sending them to school.. how much did you spend on me? I'll pay you back every penny even if it means that I have to scrub the floors for ten more years but I'm never going the role of a stupid queen"Anda shouted.
" If you don't get married to him.. he's going to take everything we own"April pleaded.
" I don't care.. At least, we'd be a normal family not where the children are sold off for wealth.. I don't want to hear about this again"Anda replied.
" I guess we have no other choice then, Leave her"Samuel said.
" Anda.. if you don't agree to this, Arianna will take your place"April held her daughter.
" What? Anna is just Nineteen.. you'll sell off your young daughter for land?" Anda froze on her footsteps.
"We have no choice and Arianna agreed.. we'll pull her off college and she really is a smart kid.. Second year, Two years to getting her degree on marketing..we don't want to this and we are not.. you're doing this to her" April sat down.
"You're emotionally black mailing me"Anda chuckled.
" You want to go back to New York? Stay for your sister's wedding before you leave, you missed Kathrina's wedding.. at least let's be here for Arianna"April smiled.
" f**k this"Anda whispered and ran out of the office into her room.
She knew her father. He would do it.
Samuel De Costa was addicted to power and wealth and he would do anything to gain it.
Even if means selling off his daughters.
