After that, all of my beast husbands came in, including Taika, the tiger. He was injured, his wounds bandaged, and he looked pale from blood loss. I slowly leaned closer to him. He tried to cover his injury, thinking I was about to hit him—but he froze in surprise when I reached out and healed him instead. A soft green light enveloped the room, completely healing Taika. All of my husbands watched in shock. I gently leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “Thank you for saving me,” I said. Taika froze, clearly flustered, his face turning red. “I-it’s my duty to protect you,” he stammered. The others soon left, believing this was just another one of my schemes to escape. Silence filled the room. Then it hit me. What… did I just do? I stepped back, my heart racing, and began arguing with myself. “God, what am I doing? I’m a man… well, at least I used to be. I shouldn’t be doing things like this.” I stared at my hands—the same hands that had just healed him, the same hands that had reached out so gently… so naturally. “Then why did it feel so right?”
