LEGEND OF THE VIPER(COMPLETE)

CHAPTER 9

Haven stood there silently smoking her cigarette. She had to calm down before she showed her true self in front of her family and Amber. She was shocked to hear that Amber knew about her so much but never said a word to her. What else did she knew about her?

She thought she was alone but Amber joined her and hugged her from behind.

'I'm sorry, I couldn't help it,' Amber said apologetically.

'I know baby, don't beat yourself. Thank you,' Haven said pulling her to the front.

'I ruined the dinner.'

'You didn't. You stood up for me and no one do that for me. So thank you.'

'I told you that I won't stand anyone that bullies you. You are mine and no one should disrespect you.'

'I'm a lucky woman to have such a devoted girlfriend like you.'

'You are,' she said and kissed her lightly on the lips.

Haven heard footsteps behind and turned to look around and saw her father. She couldn't remember the last time she was just alone with him.

'Do you have more of those?' he asked and she took out one cigarette and gave it to him.

Amber excused herself leaving her and her father alone.

They were quiet for two minutes before her father spoke.

'I'm sorry Haven, I didn't know.'

'It doesn't matter now father. I moved on and so should you.'

'Your mother....'

'You should forgive her. She was just being mom and you know it. If you don't forgive her then I might as well hate all of you for the rest of my life since you all mistreated me. I never complained n dim not right now.'

'What can I do to make it up to you?'

'Just let your children be what they want. Don't force us to do what you want. We know what's good for ourselves. Of course you want the best for us but let us choose who we want to become. If we fail we will always know you are there and will always support us no matter what we do. Don't you want to see your children happy?'

'I do.'

'Then let us be father.'

'I will do that and talk to your mother.'

'It's late and I need to take Amber back. I will see you another day,' she said and began to walk away when her father stopped her.

'Can we have lunch another day?'

'Not this week father. I have a full schedule. Next week I will have lunch with you, I promise,' she said and went back inside to fetch her girlfriend.

'Baby lets go,' she said as she looked at Amber.

'Is everything okay?'

'It is,' she said and took her out.

Being here would make things worse so she left. The problem came when she tried to drop Amber back at her place. She totally refused.

'Baby you need to go inside,' she said.

'No, I'm going with you tonight,' Amber said.

'You have classes tomorrow.'

'I don't care. I will go from your place or just come and pick my bag tomorrow.'

'You can't baby.'

'Do you love me?'

'You know I do.'

'Then go with me.'

Haven just looked at her and shook her head. Why was she doing this to her?

'Fine, go inside and take your satchel. You will go to my place. Where are your parents?'

'Not at home,' she said happily as she left the car.

Haven sat inside while she waited for Amber to appear.

She didn't plan for this at all and it was making her crazy but she deserved it.

Amber appeared minutes later with her satchel and got inside the car.

'Are you happy now?' she asked.

'Yes. Tonight I can see your place.'

'You won't be able to,' Haven said as she drove off.

Haven drove silently back to her mansion and just like how she told Amber; she didn't get to see the way to her mansion. It was masked that way. She parked the car and helped Amber to go inside. Mary welcomed the two of them and helped her carry the bags to her bedroom.

'Do you need something to eat?' she asked.

She looked at Amber and decided on one thing.

'Just bring ice-cream to the room.'

'I will bring it over. Your water is ready,' Mary told her.

'Thank you,' she said and headed for her bedroom.

She opened the door and let Amber in. She watched as Amber ok in her surroundings but this time she didn't look scared at all.

'You really like snakes?' Amber asked.

'Yes, I do. What about you?'

'I don't like them much but ever since I met you I am trying my best.'

'Is that so?'

'Yes, I am happy that I'm here now.'

'I need to take a bath. Do you want to join me?'

'Yes,' she didn't hesitate to answer.

Haven led Amber to the bathroom and watched as she shyly removed her clothes.

'I believe there is no need for that now.'

'I have never been naked with you before,' she said.

'Then do you want to bath later?'

'No, now,' she said and removed all of them.

Haven smiled and began to remove her own clothes. She saw how attentively Amber kept staring at her. They had been dating for a while but she just couldn't go all the way with her yet. She wanted to take her time with Amber but Amber wasn't that patient. Maybe she should just go all the way since she was here. She scooped Amber in her arms and took her into the tub.

'What's this nice smell?' Amber asked.

'I have no idea but it is good for the body, I mean the herbs,' she corrected herself.

'I understand. So you bath like this every night?'

'I take it very morning and night.'

'I should join you.'

'Are you planning on living with me?'

'Yes and marry you,' Amber blurted out.

Haven laughed and kissed her passionately before going back to taking their bath. They splashed water on each other, rubbed each other and washed each other.

Mary came in with the ice cream and left. When the thirty minutes was up, they left the tub and dried themselves. Haven went to her bedroom where she applied her oil but it was tricky for Amber who had never received the bites so she gave her different type of oil.

'Why can't I use that one?'

'It's complicated baby. Just be a good girl and apply this one.'

'Fine, do you have anything I can wear?'

'Go and pick a robe in the closet.'

'You don't have any nightwear?'

'I don't wear those.'

'You saying you sleep naked?'

'I do. Will that bother you?'

'No, I will just sleep naked too,' she said and went to the bed.

Haven smiled at Amber and climbed onto the bed. Amber joined her and the two cuddled. Being intimate with Amber was just one very big step. Kissing and touching she could do but having s*x with her when there was so much going on was just not the way to go.

Haven kissed Amber on her forehead and closed her eyes.

'You are sleeping?'

'Yes, baby. I need to go to work early in the morning and you have school too.'

'But....'

'We have plenty of time, baby. There is no need for us to rush things,' Haven reassured her and lucky for her Amber bought it.

'I love you,' Amber said holding her arms closely.

'I love you too, baby,' Haven said back and kissed the back of her head.

It was going to be a long night but it was worth it.

Eric looked at the black dress in front of her and decided it was the one. There was an upcoming annual event at the organization and everyone had to look their best. New members were being given their marks and so were the old members who had earned privileges. It was a night where the children could just show off their wealth and being proud of being in the organization. He wanted Gina to look the best. She was his woman after all.

'I will take it,' he said to the sales lady.

Eric wanted his woman to look the best at the upcoming ceremony. It had always been the best and flamboyant ceremony even before the Viper was coroneted three years ago.

He purchased the dress, picked a pair of high heel shoes and finally bought a simple and yet sophisticated set off jewelry. He had his things packed nicely and he drove away from the mall.

Eric called Gina who picked after the third ring and set up a meeting with her for lunch. Luckily for him she was free which was shocking considering how busy she was always.

He returned to his work place and resumed his duties.

When lunch time arrived he went to pick up Gina at their usual spot. Gina's work place was located in a familiar and open space. If he wasn't part of the organization he would have no idea what the building was really for. Everyone would probably think they are just a small investment company not knowing that they own the hugest underworld bank ever.

She looked gorgeous in her formal suit. He kissed her lightly on her lips before sending her in the car. He drove her to a nice restaurant where he had booked in advance a private room where they could just be alone.

After they were seated, they took their orders.

They talked about work and the upcoming ceremony while they waited for their food.

The food finally came and they ate their food as fast as they could since Gina was supposed to return early. After lunch he took her back to her office.

He stopped his car and told her to wait.

'Come on, I need to head in before she go gaga on me. She is under a lot of pressure nowadays.'

'I just want to look at you more and give you what I brought.'

'What did you brought this time?'

'A small gift, so accept it.'

'If it's yours I will never say no,' Gina said excitedly.

Eric smiled at her words and kissed her on the forehead before taking out the bags from the back seat. He gave her the bags.

'I don't want you to be late so open them when you go inside,' he said.

'Okay, I will. See you later,' she said and got out of the car.

He watched as his girlfriend walked towards the building entrance and another familiar face approaching her. There were so many people who worked there and most of them were always suspicious. He drove away and returned back to his office.

It was going to be a long day and he needed to finish fast before meeting up with Gina again.

Gina was pretty shocked when she opened the bags Eric had given her earlier. He had bought her the whole deal and she loved it. Being spoiled like this was so much better. She was used to seeing her boss spoiling all those many girlfriends but being given the same attention was new and exciting. She put her bags away and concentrated on her work.

Something fishy had been going on and she had a feeling that Haven was keeping a lot from her but she has a reason so she was going to trust her on that.

If she gets to live after the coming weekend then she was going to have a hard talk with her boss no matter how scary and intimidating she was.

She heard Gina calling her and she went to her office immediately. She found Gina looking very mad and agitated.

'Did something happen?' she asked.

'Yes it did. While you were outside having fun with your boyfriend, I remained here only to see that there was no coffee for me. I'm hungry and there is nothing to eat. What should I eat?' Haven asked.

To be honest her boss was becoming very troublesome. She was eating too much and if she wasn't a homosexual person she would think that she was pregnant. She left food for her and yet the food was all gone. Why would she be hungry when she ate all that?

'I hope I won't be answering you that question but I need you to find whoever culprit stole my food. Find me something to eat before this venom kills me,' Haven said and Gina left the office quickly.

Gina went to the fridge and was shocked by what she saw. Someone had taken the food, who had guts to take the food? She called the security and they came immediately.

'I don't care how you do it but someone took the Viper's food and she is out of her mind. Whoever the person was just find him or her,' she instructed.

'We will do that ma'am,' they said and left.

The fridge was always full with all kinds of food but a certain type of food was missing and it also happens to be what Haven wanted to eat. Of all things to take, why did they take her fruits? She couldn't help it but laugh and ran out. She took a taxi to the nearest café where she bought a large sized pizza and juice. She returned back to the office as soon as she could and found Haven shouting at someone on the phone.

Gina went inside, placed the food on her table and stood there listening as the other person got insulted.

Haven threw the phone on the floor before coming over to her food. Whenever something like this happen, she always avoided to ask. She hated it when she got asked about it.

'You may leave,' Haven said digging into her food.

Gina didn't need to be told twice. She left the office and went back to her desk and began to do her duties.

Whoever that person was, she really felt sorry for her or him.

Luckily for her she was used to it so she began to do what she does best while waiting for work end; working.

She couldn't wait to leave work and spend the night in her lover's arms.

Sam was proud of himself as he watched his followers gathering for their last meeting. Over the years he had managed to rope in as many as he could and among the Oracle only three were not present. They were very hard to persuade.

'Thank you all for coming tonight. We are left with just a few nights before the d day arrives. I hope you are all ready for the day where your dream and my dream will come true. For so long we have been ruled and governed by this ancient tradition but it's time for change. Why should we let the gods choose our leader; when we can choose one ourselves?'

'Yes. It's not fair!' some shouted.

Sam smiled and continued his speech.

'She has no idea what is in store for her. What could a kid possibly do? Remember to come prepared and thank you for coming,' he addressed the crowd.

After a while they all left and he remained behind with the other priests and priestesses.

'After a long discussion we have realized that it won't be to our advantage if we take her sisters but her girlfriend.'

'Does she even have a normal relationship?'

'Yes, she does. She had been dating that heiress from St Claire.'

'Wow, she has good standards. She will make a better target, it won't matter if she is serious or what. Let's just grab the girl and make sure everything goes perfectly.'

'Let's do that. Don't grab her too early but Friday night to avoid any suspicions.'

'We will do as planned. It's just three days away from the ceremony, time is ticking.'

'Indeed it is. Let's disperse now and do our parts.'

'Yes, lead priest. We will see you on Saturday.'

'Let's meet.

After the final meeting Sam drove back to his house. He kissed his beautiful wife on her cheeks, hugged his small kids before heading for the bedroom.

One day they were going to understand why he did that. He was going to make his ancestors dream come true after all. Haven white didn't know what was coming for her. He was going to make life very miserable for her that she will wish that snake never bite her in the first place.
