She has been a sincere student when it comes to her studies and is polite to her seniors and teachers and known for her quiet and introverted nature among them. But on the other hand, she was a tomboy in between her friend circle at least. Roaming in hoodies and eating ramen in the night wherever possible. She only had friends, and never a best friend because she never trusted anyone, not more than herself. She always wanted a guy friend and yes she was always more comfortable with a guy. She was beautiful yet something was uncanny about her. Her jokes can only be understood by her family members. But she thought of herself as a funny person who sometimes love being quiet and surrounded herself with her aloof aura. Now going to be an archaeologist, she was always interested in history. History of humans and theories of the universe. She believed in history most importantly which most the le thought was a well-versed fiction because they have never witnessed it. She enjoys her subject, she enjoys the discovery of things that were at some point in time real and alive. She was curious to know the world which was beyond anyone else's imagination. The world that only she imagines in her dreams and admires. Every day she woke up to discover a new chapter of history. Alive, she used to study the dead. Her mom and dad were from a decent teaching background. They both were professors at her college. But rarely checked on her, as they knew they raised her with a strong mindset. Her father was a physics professor and her mother was a maths professor, and yet she hated both subjects. She never looked either like her father or mother. She was a little different than her brother too. But there was a similarity between their way of thinking towards life. They were courageous, they were brave to accept their responsibilities and lastly, they were determined in whatever they do. Grace was the same but her eyes spoke a different language. She was after mysterious things. She was herself a mystery to her classmates. Everyone was back bitching about her, about the way she walks, the way she entered the college in absolute silence, everyone thought of her as someone who has a lot of attitude. She was shy toward boys too. She likes boys, she knew that. There was something about them that attracted her. Not their masculinity but the way they talk and smile when she replied to them. But she controlled it all. She knew she will become weak if she will give it all. But not all boys of her college came under this category of likeness. . . . . . GRACE Only this last month is left for me to achieve my aim in life. I'm doing my best to prove to my parents that I followed this profession because I'm worthy of it. I believe that maybe I belong to another world, I'm so weird man. Hope one day I'll get some magical powers and show these stupid morons, that I'm more than just a sincere student. I'ma superwoman. God, what am I thinking about, this bullshit of becoming a heroine and getting all the attention? I need to submit the thesis and here I'm making castles in the air. But where is my research partner? He is always late and irritates me the most. But he is handsome... Gosh. Why... Is it because I have been single for the last 10 years or maybe because I'm such an introvert and shy toward boys? But I think I'm more comfortable with them, once I get to know them my shyness goes away. Here he is, Harry Luther, the only handsome face in my class, but irritating me with his smirk. Always surrounded by girls and that's exactly what I hate about him. I hate overrated things. I am a rebel I guess. “Harry! Harry! Have you done what I told you?” Ignoring my call, he waved at me while looking at his group of girls. Like I'm his assistant. “Harry, are you listening to me, we have to submit this project by tomorrow!!!!!” Harry finally saw me and replied with those red lips that he licked when he was coming toward me. “Hey Grace, hi! And I'm so sorry I was not able to complete the studies on heliography. Ahh! I was so busy with my gym workouts. I'm so sorry and I got to go to my anthropology classes, Bye !” And he ran away. That moron ... Jeez I'm gonna sue him someday. But I cut some slack over him because sometimes he treats me very well. I sighed and needed some help. But no one was there, those stupid girls giggling at my state of helplessness with those high heels on and mini skirts which give me shivers, because it's cold here in Rome. I almost lost the energy in my body to take a step forward and make them shut up. But I know where to waste my energy now. As I walked through the library, I felt lonely. I wasn't able to ignore those couples there. Smiling at each other and passing love notes to each other. It made me feel that I lack behind my time and my age. I was busy with my studies, I was busy with my work all these years. And it made me feel more responsible for my existence. I knew I'm not like them, I have to achieve a lot. But sometimes I need someone to talk to, someone to hug and care for me too. I'm becoming weak I guess, by even thinking about it. I'm strong I know but sometimes I feel alone. Oh gosh! Juniors these days, are they my juniors? And my eyes met with someone who was looking at me constantly. I gazed at him back but now he is gone. He left in such a hurry. Like as if he saw a ghost, maybe I'm that much scary with my gaze. I want something new in my life now...
