CHAPTER FOUR

Alexandria’s POV Fuck. f**k f**k f**k. Where was I? What was the last thing I remembered? I tried to open my eyes, but they couldn't move, pain at every nerve off my body. “Don't worry, we'll get you to safety,” I heard someone say. I wanted to speak, but I couldn't, and soon, I succumbed to the darkness again. I don't know how long I was out for. All I knew was, I woke up in a panic, my heart racing. The white room I was in was blinding, so I groaned, cursing how white hospital walls were. There was a heart monitor connected to me, the steady beeping sound echoing in the room. Someone had changed my clothes,” I thought as I raised the blanket up so I could step down from the bed. My legs wobbled but I stood firm, cursing when my joints ached. Suddenly, the door flew open and my mothers flew in. “Oh my baby,” Margaret cried out, rushing towards me. “I cannot believe I almost lost you.” “Margaret,” I accepted her hug. Mallory stood behind her, waiting patiently for her turn. “Oh, come here you,” she cried, enveloping me in the smell of alcohol. “I told you not to drink too much, you never listened to me.” “I was not drunk,” I said indignantly. Someone knocked on the door and pushed it open. Jeff peeked from the corner, looking innocent. “Baby,” he said entering the room. “You're safe.” I don't reply to him. “What happened to me?” I asked my moms. “Oh, I was so scared. Jeff called us. He said you had been drinking and you ran into the highway,” Margaret told me. “Sir down, you shouldn't be standing.” Mallory helped me to go back to the best, while I sent death glared Jeff’s way. Did he seriously think I forgot? “I, I think we should give her space.” “Nonsense,” Mallory reprimanded him. “Go and get the doctor, let's settle her back in bed.” He reluctantly left the room and as soon as the door closed behind him, Mallory's eyes snapped to me. “What did he do?” “How do you know he did something?” I asked begrudgingly, not wanting to annoy Margaret. “Alexandria Nicole Thompson, I raised you and I know when someone offended you,” she snapped back. “Now tell us, quick.” Jeez, not the full name. “He cheated on me.” “What?” Margaret cried out in shock. She was a much smaller woman, a trait I shared with her. Her long blonde hair fell in waves behind her, and she was dressed casually too. Where Mallory was a hard b***h to please, Margaret had always been my softie, the mother that spoiled me the most. It was too bad she had a belief that everyone was as good as her. “He did what?” I cringed and recounted the whole event. Me getting home and seeing my boyfriend d**k deep in another woman's v****a. “So, I stormed out of the house angrily and I wasn't looking, which is how I assume I got here.” “My God,” Margaret said, her entire face red. “Oh, I am going to give that boy a talking to. Let him just see.” At that moment, Jeff pushed the door open. “Hi, the doctor is here.” “Thank you,” Mallory said coldly. “You may leave?” “What?” “Jeff, the only reason I am not reaching out for my gun to shoot you is because of the fact that my daughter seems safe, alive and sound. Do not make me f*****g regret it. Get the hell out,” Margaret cursed at him. I stared at my mum in shock and smiled like a b***h in heat. “Let him know, momma.” “No one ever cheats on my baby boo,” she replied, kissing my forehead softly. Jeff started talking but seemed to think about it, slamming the door behind him. “I need him out of my house,” I sniffled. “Can you make that happen?” “Yes,” Mallory replied. “Leave that to me. In the meantime, let the doctor attend to you.” The male doctor smiled softly at me. “Hi, Miss. Thompson. Let me just examine you for any issues, okay?” “Okay,” I settled back in my bed. My moms stood at the corner of the room, holding hands when the doctor came closer and flashed a small light in my eyes. “Hmm, seems to be receptive to light. Does it hurt when I do this?” “Just my entire body aching.” “Trust me. You are lucky to be alive. When your friend brought you in here, you were announced dead from the ambulance,” the doctor informed me. He shifted a bit and I noticed the eating in his ear. His very pointy ear. “Cool fae cosplay,” I grinned. “Do you identify as one, or is Halloween around the corner and no one told me?” The doctor shifted backwards awkwardly. “Pardon?” “Your ears,” I repeated, “the sharp points. I've always wanted cosplays like that, but I'm broke so I cannot afford super realistic ones like you.” “Yes,” he replied slowly, a cold mask dropping over his face. “You can't.” I smiled at him. “Maybe one day, you can show me where you got it from? I mean, I'm not a medical doctor, but I can save money to get it.” I blushed hard. “Sorry, I am blabbing.” “That's fine,” the handsome doctor smiled. I stared at his face harder, and suddenly, he looked more handsome than usual. “My my,” I cursed underneath my breath. Mallory walked to his side. “Is everything okay?” “Yeah. I already stated it was very rare to see a human recovery so quickly, but Alexandria seems to just need rest. I'm sure she will be fit to go home today.” “Wait, I was brought in dead?” I suddenly asked, the doctor's words suddenly ringing in my ears. “I died?” “Yes. Luckily, there was someone with you. He kept on performing CPR,” the doctor wrote something in my chart. “Okay I need to check on something. Can you wait to see me, just before you leave?” “Certainly,” Mallory replied. As soon as the doctor closed the door, she turned to me, panic in her eyes. “We've got to go,” she said. “Why?” “Don't ask questions, Dria. Just unhook that s**t and pack up your bags.” “Dear Lord, you don't think it's happening,” Margaret asked Mallory. She shook her head and licked the door. “Here's your clothes,” she said, handing me a bag. I changed quickly into a hoodie and sweatpants, wondering why my mother was in such a rush. My greatest wonder, was how the f**k both my mothers had wings their backs.
