The next day I woke up feeling refreshed. Unfortunately, Sean was still asleep, so I gently kissed him on the forehead and headed to the kitchen. Opening the pantry, I pulled out the pancake mix I bought and the syrup. I usually make my own syrup, but the process is a little longer than I have time for today. I found bowls and the other things needed pretty easy and set to work on mixing it. Once satisfied, I pour the batter onto the waffle maker and close the lid. My mother didn't have a waffle maker.
