Nine Grace knew that the time for sleep had come. She couldn’t pursue Lake until she had a trail, and she had to wait for the spyder to create one. She and Heron agreed to go their separate ways at midnight. Heron walked with her to the CityRide stop but, after a polite goodbye, headed east.
