Chapter 17Donkey Business
Juan Morales and Francisco Tamayo sat in the spacious dining room at the home of Alvaro de Tejado. Both men had been so certain that de Tejado was their man that they both now wore the crestfallen looks of men who are at their wits end.
The bodies of Alvaro and Anna had been cut down and were now on their way to the morgue, where Doctor Hernandez would carry out the requisite post-mortem examinations. Preliminary examination had shown that the unfortunate couple had both had their throats cut, the deep incised wounds a sign of the strength of their attacker, and perhaps the anger and the fury with which he'd carried out his attack.
