Chapter 5 - Angelica

962 Words
The only things that registered in my head when I awoke was pain and that I was moving. Looking around I noticed that I was in the back of a van with a chain around my ankle attaching me to the floor, well that explains the moving but not the pain. just as I thought that the memories from last night came flooding through my mind. Forcing myself to sit up slightly I looked down at myself to see the blood on the front of my dress. The scarlet colour standing out starkly against the white. Gingerly I grabbed the hem of my dress and carefully lifted it up only to see more blood coating the inside of my thighs, proof of what Cane had done to me the night prior. Shaking my head of the memories I pulled my dress up higher, thankfully Cane had someone wrap up my stomach so I didn’t have to worry about bleeding out. Once my dress was back in place I was harshly thrown backwards on the floor of the van, The cold metal biting into my back through the thin material. Hissing out in pain while the dress was slowly getting stuck to my skin I realised that I must have reopened some of the cuts on my back from when Cane whipped me a couple of days ago for not waking up quick enough. Slowly getting to my knees I crawled over to the small mesh covered window that separated the two halves of the van being careful to not reopen any more of my wounds. Looking around as much as possible I instantly knew that I had no idea where I was. Just as I was about to ask where we were I heard the all too familiar rumble of a motorcycle engine. “what’s that noise?” the question is past my lips before I could stop myself although I know I spoke so softly that it was possible that Cane hadn’t heard me. That theory was quickly shut down when Cane sighed loudly as if talking to me was a chore that he didn’t have time for “what noise?” before I could reply the sight out of the windows was blocked by a bunch of bikers. “That noise” I finally answered the worry was clear in my tone, but it wasn’t for what the bikers would do, but how Cane would react to the situation at hand. A loud bang filled my ears as the van came to a screeching halt while I got thrown further back in the van only to be pulled back by the chain, the curses from Cane and Alexander barely registering in my head as pain floods my body once more. Before I even no what’s happening I hear Cane and Alexander get out while the backdoors start too open. As quickly as I can I scurry backwards towards the front of the van, looking up once the door is fully open I realise that the two men standing there were people that I had never met before. Both were tall with broad shoulders and tattoos, the first was handsome enough with his forest green eyes and long brownish black hair that just brushed his shoulders. But it was the second that had me truly captivated with his chestnut brown hair and eyes of the darkest coal had me shivering at the intensity of them. Just then my brain registered that with the size of these two they could snap me like a twig with that I push myself up against the metal more. “Its ok, I’m not going to hurt you ok, we’re just trying to help” his voice was deep and smooth whilst also being gentle. It was the gentleness of his voice that pulled me towards him. After a moment of self debating I scoot forward until I’m near enough for him to lift me, remembering the chain around my ankle I quickly stop and point at it, not trusting my voice to remain steady and hope that he will understand. Thankfully he does and calls someone over to pick the lock, once I’m free he lifts me up and places my feet firmly on the ground only to catch me again when my knees give out under me. Scooping me up in his arms I let out little shriek, my whole body becoming tense with fear as I try my hardest not to scream or flinch away. Once I was situated in the car he surprised me once again by tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before I could, I was too afraid to look at him so I looked anywhere else. He pulled away and told me that he would be back in a minute before walking off to talk to someone for a moment. Releasing a breath I didn’t know I was holding I slump back into the seat and move as close to the door as I could, my body ready to bolt if I needed to.  Returning to the car the man jumps into the driver’s seat. He looked like he struggled to fit his frame through the door. I would have found it amusing in a past life. But now it was terrifying. During the drive I allowed my mind to wonder as my vision started to blur and go black I didn’t fight it as I allowed the darkness to consume me. But this time felt different. This time I wasn’t fully afraid. I didn’t feel alone.
