"Mom what's going on here _?
Like people congratulated me outside, some even saying I'm the bride of the day, Anne ask in curious tone ?
"Yes dear, you are getting married!
Like what...?
Someone tell what's really going on? Anne asked with anger.
Anne flashed a sly grin. "Getting hitched against my will? Come on, Mom, you've gotta be kidding me. That prank's gonna cost you big time," she quipped.
"Girl, you're trippin'. Marrying Mr. Van Storm is like hittin' the jackpot, not some cheap bargain."
Sarah, replied her sister who was weeping non stop.
" Since it's a bargain then you can have it," Anne replied with a smile.
Anne started to smile like a crazy person.....
Everyone taught she was out of her mind, but deep down, she knew she was just misunderstood.
Confusion hung in the air like a dense fog, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the crowd as they exchanged puzzled glances and furrowed brows, the murmurs of speculation swirling around them like a whirlwind of confusion.
Each person stood on the precipice of understanding, their minds reaching out like grasping fingers to unravel the mystery that lay before them, like a tangled web waiting to be unraveled.
The scene was a tapestry of bewilderment, woven with threads of curiosity and intrigue, a tableau of uncertainty that sparked whispers of intrigue and speculation.
And in the midst of it all, a single question hung in the air like a heavy weight: what was going on?
Unknown to them that smiling itself is a form of emotional shadow.
.
Some smiles are masks that hide the tears and pain that someone is truly feeling on the inside.
Anne's father's heart ached for her, a silent sympathy hidden beneath a facade of powerlessness, waiting in the shadows as her mother wielded the ultimate authority over their lives.
A hush fell over the crowd as the Mr. Van Storm suddenly burst forth, a look of determination on his face.
His interruption was unexpected and breathtaking, causing gasps and whispers to ripple through the guests.
Anne turn to face him, her eyes wide with shock and confusion.
"Don't stress, babe. I'll make sure you're the happiest chick in the world," Mr. van promised.
Anne's skin crawled as Mr. Van Storm's vile words slithered into her ears like slimy snakes, leaving a sickening taste in her mouth.
His toxic words lingered in the air like a foul stench, suffocating her with their repulsiveness.
She felt as though she were drowning in a sea of revulsion, desperate to cleanse herself of his venomous presence.
As she stood in the crowds, the weight of her mother's demands pressing down on her, the girl's mind raced with thoughts of escape.
The walls felt like they were closing in on her, suffocating her with the fear of being forced to do something she didn't want to do.
Her mother's wickedness seemed to loom over her like a dark cloud, casting a shadow of despair over her fragile spirit.
With trembling hands and a pounding heart, she frantically searched for a way out.
Every creak of the floorboards and rustle of the curtains sent shivers down her spine, as if her mother's presence was lurking in every corner, waiting to pounce on her disobedience.
Desperation fueled her determination to break free, to be a good child or defy her mother's wicked intentions.
She knew she had to find a way to escape the prison of her own mind, to stand up for herself and reclaim her freedom.
And as she plotted her daring escape, she knew that the battle would be long and difficult, but she was willing to fight for her own independence, no matter the cost.
"Hey ma, I had accepted the marriage proposal, I'm gonna go freshen up in my room real quick." Anne fibbed to her mom.
Anne entered her room holding her phone, and dialed Alia number ,her colleagues.
"hey girl, theirs an emergency help I need from you ..!
Alia's voice came through the phone, sounding concerned. "What's wrong, Anne? Is everything okay?"
Anne took a deep breath, trying to keep her voice steady.
"No, everything is definitely not okay. I can't explain over the phone, but I need you to come over as soon as possible. Please, Alia, I really need your help."
There was a tense pause on the line before Alia finally responded, her tone firm.
"I'll be right there. Just hold on, I'm on my way."
Anne hung up the phone, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over her.
The urgency in her voice had clearly struck a nerve with Alia, but now she was left alone in her room, wondering just how she will escape the situation and what kind of help she would need from her friend.
The tension in the air was thick as she waited for Alia to arrive, her mind racing with all the possible scenarios of what could have gone wrong.
**A few moments later**
As Anne and Alia crouched in the shadows outside Anne's window, they knew it was now or never.
Alia hoisted the ladder onto her shoulder, the metal rungs clinking softly in the stillness of the night.
With practiced precision, she positioned it beneath the open window, giving Anne a silent nod.
Heart pounding in her chest, Anne climbed through the window, her hands gripping the sill tightly.
She glanced back at Alia, determination shining in her eyes.
With a final push, she swung her legs free and dropped lightly onto the ladder. As she descended, Alia kept a watchful eye, ready to lend a hand if needed.
The ladder creaked beneath Anne's weight, but she climbed with a steady resolve, her gaze fixed on the ground below.
Finally, her feet touched solid ground and she turned to face Alia, a sense of accomplishment washing over her.
Together, they shared a triumphant smile, knowing that they had pulled off the impossible.
Anne and Alia were about to make a run for it, but damn, someone caught them in the act.
As Anne and Alia continued to sprint through the Streets, she could hear the voices of her pursuers growing louder and closer behind her.
She glanced back for a split second and saw that Alia had been caught by Mr. Van Storm's men.
Determined to save her friend, Anne dodged through the throngs of people, narrowly avoiding being grabbed by the grasping hands of Mr. Van Storm's lackeys.
Sarah laid on the ground, blood oozing from the cuts and bruises on her face. Mr. Van Body Guide stood over her, a menacing glint in his eyes as he cracked his knuckles.
"You think you can mess with us and get away with it?" he sneered, kicking Sarah's ribs. She groaned in pain, tears streaming down her face.
Anne stood frozen in fear, watching the brutal scene unfold before her. She knew Mr. Van Body Guide was capable of anything, and she felt a wave of terror wash over her.
"Please, stop!" Anne pleaded, her voice shaky. "I'll do whatever you want, just please don't hurt her anymore."
Mr. Van Body Guide turned his attention to Anne, a twisted smile spreading across his face. "Oh, don't worry, sweetheart. I won't hurt her anymore... as long as you came back with us"
Anne's heart raced as she realized the gravity of the situation.
She had to comply with Mr. Van Body Guide's demands, or risk the safety of her friend.
With a heavy heart, she nodded in agreement, knowing that she was now entangled in a dangerous game with no way out.
As Sarah lay battered and broken on the floor, Anne knew that she had to be strong and do whatever it took to protect her friend and herself from the ruthless Mr. Van Body Guide.
