Caucus and his journey

I am Devorous

The morning was the same as before. Same potion, same training. Everything was going well. This time Caucus was asked to try teleport big objects with him as big as rocks. While everyone was on practice, Caucus was trying to touch big rocks and teleport them, but no matter how many times he tried he always used to teleport without it.

‘You need more concentration here child’, said Uncle Jha.

When he was trying to concentrate he in his inner mind pictured an image of his father, ‘I have to go to father’ he said involuntarily, then he disappeared from there leaving the rock.

Something hit him hard on the way, he was bounced back to a place where there was no light. He was injured severely to teleport or to stand. He was just lying in the cold, dark, and null place.

Tears were running down his cheek, due to pain in every bone of his body. He was devastated and couldn’t even move his finger. He soon slept in that null place.

The sky was full of stars. Caucus, his father Alex and his mother Maria were in the middle of the forest. There was a huge tent next to the fire. They were sitting around it. Alex had bought a huge turkey, he cut it into pieces and shoved them into a barbeque stick. Three of them put their share of meat into the fire and ate them when they were cooked. Maria was helping Caucus cook his meat. They were having a great time together.

Caucus gains his conscious as the cold in that place increased, he begun shivering in cold, the pain was increasing with increase in time he again becomes unconscious.

The place was surrounded by lights. There were flowers all over. On the chair in front, Caucus’s mom, dad, aunt, and uncle were sitting. George, Voilet and Migma were standing at the corner, they were smiling at him. Caucus was wearing a greatcoat, he was looking handsome than ever. Suddenly a sweet melody was heard in the background. At the door he saw Ross in a beautiful wedding gown, looking prettier than ever was coming toward him accompanied by uncle Jha. Anna was behind Ross with flowers in her hands. When Ross reached Caucus they were both staring at each other dissolving into each other.

‘You are looking beautiful Ross’ said Caucus getting conscious again. There was no lights, no Ross and no wedding going on. It was dark and cold again. Caucus cried in pain. Someone came there and picked him up. In dark Caucus wasn’t able to see anyone, his eyes were filled with tears which were already frozen due to cold, he again becomes unconscious.

When Caucus opened his eye this time, he was no longer cold. And the whole place was bright due to fire. ‘Are you fine, boy’, asked an unknown person from behind. Half of his face was covered in his beard, he was wearing a leather outfit from top to bottom. He was the one who saved Caucus.

‘Ross was here wearing a gown, she was going to marry me. My mom, my dad were there’, murmured Caucus still closing his eyes.

‘You were hallucinating my child’, said the stranger. 

He tried to move but his body was still in pain. ‘How did you get here, boy. From the time I knew this place, no-one except me have ever been here’, Said he.

‘This is my third time here’, said Caucus faintly, ‘but there used to be huge creatures here’, said he.

‘I know, this is the time of the year when they hibernate, but how did you get here, does the technology in this era reached it’s height so much that, the people like you can visit here?’, asked the stranger.

‘Why! if no one can be here, who are you? And how are you here?’, asked Caucus looking at him

‘I am Devorous one of the original wizard of this world. I am the only one who could teleport in this world. So I am curious how did you get here, alone?’, said he.

‘I have heard about you from uncle Jha. But he said that was millions of year before, How can I see you now, am I dead for real?’

‘No boy, yes I was dead millions of years ago but if you had heard about me then you must know I could travel back and forth in time.’

‘So according to you, you are from past before you died.’

‘You got me, but I still don’t get how you are here?’

‘I can teleport too, my uncle said I am the only one who could do it after you.’

‘Well, I wasn’t expecting that, but it makes you my legacy.’

‘Does it means, somewhere in the future I can travel back and forth in time too?’, asked Caucus.

‘well it depends, teleportation is the strongest magic any wizard and witch could acquire. Nature gives it to those who have the ability to handle it in a positive way. If it got to someone wrong they can ruin the whole universe. So along with this power dozens of responsibility comes, to protect people from devil it is in your hand now. Don’t forget you are someone who is a myth for people. If you believe in yourself and have good intentions, you can do a lot more than time travel’, said Devorous.

‘How does it feel to be able to teleport in future and in past?’

‘It feels indescribable. You will know it when you do it yourself. But a little piece of advice for you, don’t ever try to change the future and try to play with time otherwise time will play hard on you’, said he.

‘Well, the first thing I thought when you told me I could time travel was to bring my mom from past, but I don’t think that is an option here’, whispered Caucus wearily.

Devorous untied a pendant from his neck. It was a pendant with its chain black in color and had a red stone in the center, it was glowing in that cave. He handover that pendant to Caucus.

‘This pendant was used by the witch who was the creator of this whole witch and wizard dynasty. I am one of her sons. She gave it to me while she was in her death bed. This pendant is known to be enchanted, it always shows the right path to the one who wears it. I want to pass this legacy to you.’

‘I don’t deserve it’, said Caucus when Devorous interrupted, ‘ you have the magic because, you deserve it and I am giving this pendant because you deserve it. The weather is getting colder, let me help you get your home.’

Devorous helped Caucus to stand. Then they both closed their eyes and they were at the house. ‘If you ever learn to travel back and forth in time in the future, I hope you could come to my era, we will be meeting again’, said he and disappeared in the air.

The pain was still killing him, he laid on the ground outside, Ross came running for him and helped him inside. Everyone was home by then. Ross helped Caucus to get on his bed.

‘What happened to you?, We were worried when you didn’t return for a long time’, said Ross.

Uncle Jha came by his bed and studied his body, ‘you are badly hurt Caucus, did you tried to teleport in the king’s palace?’, Asked uncle.

‘I wasn’t willing to, it happened to me involuntarily when I was thinking about my father’, said Caucus in agony. It was difficult for him to speak.

‘Well, you have to stop thinking about the palace, after knowing your power king must had sealed his palace, so no one could use their magic in there. He has a bunch of Avorians. If we want to win over him, we should get Avorians in our side’, said he.

‘But will they be ready to help us, after what we did to them?’, asked Ross.

‘They have to help us, the only thing we have in common is, we both want the death of the evil king.

We have to reach them until it’s too late’, said uncle.

‘I have to go there’ said uncle Jha, ‘Ross, take care of everyone until I return back and Anna work on your magic I don’t want you to create a hurricane and blow my house, when I am not here’, said he.

In the meanwhile George comes to uncle ‘you said the palace repels magic, and I don’t have it until now so let me come with you, I want to help you. Please don’t deny it’, said George holding his hand.

‘Okay, you can come with me’ said uncle.

George jumped in excitement. He and uncle Jha hugged everyone out there. And set on their path.
