Ross and Migma aren’t here

Day-3

Early in the morning Ross made a potion for Voilet to ease his pain, so that he could continue his training. After having potion they were ordered to do their training to control but this time Ross added one more dimension for them ‘Time’.

‘Anna and Caucus, today you will continue yesterday’s training but this time, time should be your factor, you should be able to stop your aura following time. Now start and just after 5 minutes I need you to stop it’, ‘ And you George and Voilet you left yesterday’s training incomplete so you will be continuing it’, said Ross.

‘Were our potion chanted again’, asked Voilet in agony.

‘No, but I can’t help you if you don’t face and control it.’

Voilet and George fastened to their stick and begun their journey toward the spiritual world.

After five minutes Ross came outside to see Caucus and Anna but they were still inside them. She waited for them to open their eyes, but after a while she was happy to get some time to look at Caucus’s brighter avatar.

‘Soldiers are coming to check on searchers, we have to hurry’, came Uncle Jha running from behind. ‘Uncle, where were you last 2 days?’, asked Ross hugging him. ‘This is no time for explanation, we have to hurry and disappear, they can take care of themselves, but we have to take Migma with us, Soldier will take him to the king if they find him unconscious.’

‘But it takes a lot of magic to make 3 of us disappear, it can ruin you.’

‘We can take care of that later but we need to hurry.’

Two of them went to Migma’s, uncle Jha touched him with his right hand and touched Ross with his left ‘invus disappearenso’ he chanted ‘INVUS DISAPPEARENSO’ he continued, blood ran from his nose but he didn’t stopped ‘invus disappearenso’, then with a sudden blast they disappeared into thin air.

When Caucus opened his eyes there were soldiers with golden armor all around with them there were searchers who exceeded there time to search magic, they each were tied with an iron chain and were dragged by soldiers like an animal. They were crying for mercy but they all were going to be consumed by the chamber tonight.

‘you have 27 days left, find your magic soon otherwise you will be joining them’, said one of the soldiers with diamond armor, he was riding on an unicorn. They searched both inside and outside the house, after making sure there was no-one except those four. They turned around and went past them. After those soldiers were far to be seen. Caucus in despair went inside to find no-one. He searched the whole house for Migma and Ross but found nothing. Anna, Voilet, and George were still in their meditation. Caucus was trembling in fear of having bad thoughts about them.

After sometime Anna and George came out from their meditation. They looked at Voilet he was still inside but no aura was there around him. When Anna shook him he came into consciousness all of a sudden as if he was sleeping all this time. ‘How can you be stupid enough to sleep in this position, in the middle of the training’, Anna scolded.

‘You really are going to get scolded from Ross’, said George

‘But you won’t tell him, will you’ said Voilet standing from his stick.

‘It depends’, said he.

Anna went inside the house looking for Caucus, Caucus was on his knees in the ground closing his eyes, trying to get the answer but there was just silence, horrible silence.

‘What are you doing there on the ground’, came Anna.

Caucus looked at her but didn’t utter a word.

‘Are you alright Caucus?’ Anna came closer to him.

‘Migma is gone, Ross is gone, everyone, I cared about is gone’, cried Caucus pulling her arm to his face.

Anna looked around and said, ‘they must have gone somewhere safe, don’t worry they will come soon. Beside me, Voilet and George are here for you, we are in this together.’

George and Voilet followed Anna inside the house they came near Caucus and consoled him.

They all waited for them to come the whole day. Sometimes they used to go around to see if they were there. But all was in vain.

It was almost time for sleep, as Ross wasn’t there Anna and George handled the kitchen. They weren’t used to cooking dinner but somehow they managed to make it.

They were feeling too lonely eating dinner without Ross and Migma.

Caucus used to peek outside every minute to see if Ross was coming.

‘Thud’ came a sound from the bedroom. Leaving their food they hurried into the room. There were Ross, uncle Jha and Migma still in his sleep.

Caucus went toward Migma and hugged him ‘I am glad you were safe’, he said looking at him, ‘and you too’, he said to Ross.

‘Where were you all this time’, Anna asked them.

‘We were hiding from royal soldiers, we have to do that every time soldier visits our village’, ‘uncle Jha is famous for making everything disappear in contact with him’, said Ross looking at her.

‘You can say the reason for us being alive till now is my magic’, said uncle Jha.

‘But why you took so much time to appear again? we were worried’, asked Anna.

‘Every magic have consequences, it’s the consequence of my magic that I neither can appear soon nor late but after twelve-hour of using it’, said uncle.

‘I am sorry, due to my loss of control you and Migma have to go through a lot’, said Caucus in agony.

‘None of it was your fault, the strength of your aura was a lot more than Migma’s, so it took a lot of his energy, he will gain his conscious as soon as his body recovers the loss’, ‘You are unique Caucus, the kind of aura you had was similar to that of late king’s. You should know he was famous for his strength of magic. I have greater expectation from you’, said uncle Jha, ‘And I promise you, I will do whatever it takes to expose your inner magic, not only Caucus, I promise this to every one of you, including you Migma’ said he looking at him.

Ross went toward the kitchen, she made a potion for every one of them.

‘After so many years of magic, you made two living bodies disappear with you at the same time, you are weak right now, you better take rest uncle’, said Ross giving him his share of a potion.

‘I know, you don’t need to remind how old I am getting.’

‘Did I talked about your age, you are saying it yourself.’

‘I could use to make 10 people disappear at once when I was your age’, he said looking at Ross.

‘I always used to wonder about your age, would it be okay to ask you that’, said Voilet.

‘Do you want to break your other hand too’, said uncle Jha trying to sound strict.

‘Okay, I will give each one of you one guess, whoever guesses his age right, I will make his favorite meal tomorrow’, said Ross.

‘Do you want to die’, said uncle Jha in anger.

‘It’s 100’, said Voilet.

‘Not even close’, said uncle Jha.

‘200’, said Anna.

‘Do you think I am still a child’, said uncle Jha furiously.

‘Not more than 300’, said George.

‘You guys are never gonna make it to my age’, said uncle Jha

‘I still have a guess left’, said Caucus.

‘500.’

‘You all failed in it’, said Ross, ‘he will reach 1000 this year.’

‘Then why we call him uncle we should call him great great great great grandpa’, said Voilet looking at him with his mouth wide open.

‘We never could have guessed his age’, said Caucus amazed.

‘Now it’s time for bed’, said Ross.

‘I better should come after a walk.’ Caucus went outside while everyone except Ross got on their bed.

‘Were you worried about me today’, said Ross going toward Caucus.

‘I was worried, but just for Migma. You are a witch why should I worry about you’, said Caucus.

‘I thought so.’

‘After knowing uncle’s age, I am confused about your age too.’

‘why, what do you think my age is.’

‘400.’

‘Do I look like 400’, said Ross in anger.

‘No, but uncle Jha also don’t look like 1000.’

‘Well, think as you want to think, I don’t care.’

‘Well, give me a hint, tell me what was your age when you came down the portal.’

‘I don’t know but doing the math of age we gain in that portal, uncle Jha said I should be 1 to 6month old when I was thrown down in portal.’

Caucus was regretting his question.

‘I am sorry’, said he.

‘Don’t be, it’s great actually, I don’t have anyone to miss from earth. When I came here, it was just new, everything was new to me. I even didn’t knew any language. Uncle Jha taught me to speak, taught me to do magic, and helped me escape the king. He is my father, my mother and my friend’, said she.

‘And what about me, who am I to you.’

‘A searcher, who after finding his magic will leave us and serve the king.’

‘What if I say, I don’t want to serve the king and want to be here forever.’

‘And that is not possible now, uncle is getting old, his magic is also getting weaker. I don’t know till when we are going to escape the king’s eye. We are already in a trap and I don’t want you to fall in it too.’

‘Since the beginning, I never intended on serving the king and when you said he will destroy our world then I made up my mind to fight him, the reason I want my magic so bad is not to serve him, it’s to destroy him.’

‘You are joking right, do you think we and witches of Avory are hiding from him because we are afraid of fights?, It’s because we can’t fight him. If you want to be alive you have to serve him, there is no other way.’

‘I thought out of everyone you will understand me, it’s not about me. What if Migma won’t get his magic, what if any of us won’t be able to expose it, will we acknowledge our defeat and be consumed by that chamber. I am not afraid of death Ross, I am afraid to die cowardly’, said Caucus.

‘No matter what you chose I will always support you. I know either way you will going to be the greatest magician of the century’, said Ross.

‘Do you?’

Ross nodded her head. Looking at pitch-black sky Caucus said, ‘ on our world there are many stars in the sky.’

‘What do they look like?’

‘They look like light coming out from diamonds, so earther’s have a song for it, like a diamond in the sky.’

‘You must be missing it here.’

‘Yes, there are many things I miss about the earth, but if I hadn’t come down that portal I would had missed more thing.’

‘Promise me one thing’, said Ross.

‘What?’

‘If we ever made it to the earth we will watch stars whole night together.’

‘Promise’, said Caucus looking at Ross

‘Now let’s go and sleep, you are going to have a very hard time tomorrow, don’t forget you went out of time in your meditation today.’

‘Yes, mam.’

Chuckled Caucus then they both went to their respective bed.
