Grinning, Aileen clicked the door shut only to find Isla pulling a cheeky expression.
‘Match made in heaven….’
Aileen rolled her eyes, but it didn’t deter Isla. ‘Ever since you’ve come back from Loch Heaven, you’ve been different, the both of you.’
‘Yeah, we saw a man die in front of us! Why is he so stubborn?’ Aileen crossed her arms.
Isla sighed. ‘He was really worried when you were in the hospital. We all were. And he’s right. This man or woman is dangerous.’
Aileen leant against the door and her shoulders slumped. ‘So why would Marley associate herself with such people?’
Isla frowned, thinking… ‘Perks?’
‘What kind of perks?’ Aileen asked. She couldn’t think of any perks that could make her want to join forces with criminals.
