My breath caught in my throat as I thought of the most insane things "Mate, is the Alpha her ma.." I trailed off, my words dying in my lips as Adrain rushed towards the frail she-wolf pulling her into a tight hug.
"Get the pack doctor" He yelled, scooping her up in his arms and sprinting towards the pack hospital.
I exhaled a breath I hadn't realized I was holding, feeling a mix of relief and confusion. Lyra's voice whispered in my mind, "You're falling for him, aren't you?"
I shook my head vehemently, defending myself. "I am not!" Deep down, however, I felt a sense of relief wash over me, knowing that the she-wolf wasn't the Alpha's mate, but Adrain's.
Alpha's baritone voice snapped me out of my thoughts "You aren't coming?" He asked, his eyes narrowing.
