Chapter 12

1272 Words
Sutton It's early in the morning, Caleb has already left for work with me lying asleep in my bed, the sounds of someone knocking loudly at the front door ringing through my ears. Quickly, I toss on a summer dress and make my way to the front door, since no one else has seemed to bother. Speedily, I raced down the long stairwell trying to make sure someone doesn't come back and complain to Caleb that I took too long to answer. Surely he would blame that on me, considering he always finds a reason to be unsatisfied with whatever I do. Pulling back the knob and opening up, I find an attractive man, not as attractive as Caleb but close. He stands maybe an inch or two shorter with the same muscular build except his hair is a sandy blonde, not a dark shade that holds an absence of emotion behind it like Caleb. "You've gotta be Sutton," he smirks jubilantly, striding in, closing the door behind him. His eyes excitedly studying me from top to bottom with the smile never diminishing from his face. 'Yes, I am," I took a step back to let him walk in with a smile of my own. I can't help but be enamored by him. He not only has good looks, but apparently a personality which Caleb doesn't. "I'm sorry, Caleb doesn't speak much about his friends or associates, who are you?" I politely asked, leading him into the house. "I'm Ben, Caleb's best friend and, unfortunately, I know he tends to not be the friendliest of characters. I know exactly who you are, Sutton. Caleb tells me everything," he chuckles, running his fingers through his sandy locks before he extends it to me to shake hands. "Was Caleb expecting you? I don't think he's here. I thought I heard him leave for work this morning." I attempted to pull back my hand but Ben grips my fingers tight, letting the handshake linger a bit longer than it should. His hand is big and firm, the feel of his touch along with his over sized grin showing his immediate attraction towards me. I guess he does know everything because I don't think Caleb's closet friend would come on to me if he thought my relationship with Caleb held any truth. As attractive as Ben is though, I have no interest, regardless if Caleb would be okay with me dating someone behind closed doors. I know I can't have Caleb, but it doesn't change the fact he's the only man I want. "Yeah, he only ran out to his office briefly. He should be back home shortly. You don't mind if I hang out with you until he gets here, do you?" Ben's eyes do a small flutter in flirtation stepping closer towards me with his tall, towering stance. He truly is striking the nearer he is, letting me examine his features better, having me consider eventually f*****g him to see if I can get a rise out of Caleb. I'm not bothered that it might seem slutty. If I have to have s*x with someone else to see if Caleb could possible hold some true feelings for me, then it would be worth it. "Sure. I just woke up and I'm starved. I need to brush my teeth and then I'm going to come back down and fix some breakfast. You're welcome to join me if you haven't eaten yet." I offered with my own flirtatious smile, wanting to see where this takes me. "I'd love to. I've only had a coffee this morning. I'll let you do your thing and meet you in the kitchen." "It's a date," I teased, winking as I headed to the steps to freshen up for the day before I start cooking. Ben's lips edge up higher at the corners of his mouth, amused by my playful banter while he turns to the kitchen with rising cheeks and squinting eyes in content. .................... I returned back downstairs within five minutes, Ben greeting me with a beaming smile when I enter the kitchen, him sitting in the center of the room on the island stool. "So how do you liking working for Caleb?," I can feel Ben's eyes burning into me from behind while I took out some eggs and the frying pan adjusting the burner. He seems to not have much of a filter openly expressing his intentions towards me. His intentions being he wants to be more than just friends and doesn't care if I'm aware of it. "It pays well." My answer is dry because that, besides the awesome s*x, is the only thing I can say out loud that isn't negative when it comes to working for Caleb McIntyre. "What, the s*x isn't good?" Surprisingly, he asks with a chuckle. He really does have no filter, coming out with something so blunt, but I don't mind. There's very little in this world that makes me uncomfortable. I'd prefer to be able to speak my mind regardless how extreme it might seem to other people. Switching off the stove, I decided to focus my attention on my conversation with Ben instead of cooking. Breakfast can wait. He fascinates me, he's handsome, outspoken, and nice. Personalities traits that are rare in this household. I turn around, placing my hands on the counter, hoisting myself up, so I sit on the ledge facing Ben, tossing my head back in laughter, "Are you always this forward or did I just get lucky?" "Like I said, I know everything. I'm assuming you are enjoying the s*x as much as Caleb is. He speaks highly of your skills." Ben says it like he knows more than he should and now I'm taking offense. There might not be much that I find offensive, but a line has just been crossed. It doesn't bother me that he knows I f**k Caleb, but I'm not good with Caleb bragging about our s*x life to his buddies in detail. The smile that has been garnering on my face has quickly diminished. "I don't care that you know I f**k the man, but the explicit details are no one's business but mine and his. He had no right telling you that much information." I bark, my nostrils flaring, my tone harsh as I grip tighter on the edge of the counter, feeling my knuckles beginning to whiten from my heightening anger. "Calm down gorgeous. I didn't mean to offend you. Caleb hasn't really said anything, it's his attitude about it when I bring it up that had me figuring the s*x was more than satisfactory. He's not the type to go around bragging about personal details. I just know the man well enough to know he definitely enjoys your company." Ben holds up his hands defensively, realizing he's said the wrong thing. "Well he sure doesn't act like enjoys my company except during sex." He can't even stay in the same room as me unless his c**k is shoved up my core. I doubt he likes anything about me except my p***y and my mouth when their both wrapped neatly around his d**k. "I'm sorry, I really shouldn't be discussing these things with you. I overstepped, can you forgive me?" Ben puckers his lips giving me droopy puppy dog eyes, pleading for my forgiveness. I'm about to accept his apologize but before I get the chance Caleb enters the kitchen with furrowed brows, his voice filled with aggravation and rage, "What's going on in here?" He approaches me jerking me off the counter by my waist.
