Victor sat in his prison cell, staring blankly at the wall as he processed the news. "Ava's pregnant," his cellmate said, handing him a newspaper. Victor's eyes scanned the article, his heart sinking. Ava, the woman he once loved, started a family without him. He thought of their tumultuous past, the mistakes he made. Regret and anger swirled inside him. "Why now?" Victor muttered, crumpling the paper. His cellmate looked up. "Are you okay, man?" Victor shook his head. Ava moved on. She's having a baby. The cellmate nodded sympathetically. "You need to let go, Victor." But Victor couldn't shake the feeling of loss. He thought of Ava's smile, her laughter, and their memories. He imagined how lucky Alex was. A mix of emotions tortured Victor: Longing for what could've been. Resentment towards Ava's new life Fear of being forgotten. Hope for redemption. Victor's gaze fell to the floor. "I messed up," he whispered. The cellmate placed a hand on Victor's shoulder. "You can't change the past, but you can change your future." Victor looked up, determination burning within. He knew he had a long road ahead. Victor's eyes closed, his hands clasped together. The dim prison lighting cast shadows on his face. "Dear God," he whispered, his voice barely audible. The weight of his mistakes bore down on him. I've hurt so many people, Lord. Ava, her family... myself." Victor's breath caught as memories flooded his mind. Please forgive me, God. Help me become a better person. He paused, collecting his thoughts. "Grant me redemption, Lord. Show me the path to forgiveness. Victor's words tumbled out, a heartfelt plea. Protect and bless Ava and her child. Keep them safe and happy. His voice cracked. I wish I could turn back time, Lord. Make things right. Tears streamed down Victor's face. But I know I can't. So I ask for a second chance. The silence that followed was oppressive, yet Victor felt a glimmer of hope. Lord, I'll do whatever it takes. Help me improve myself." Determination etched on his face, Victor rose. He wiped away tears, his eyes locked on the future. Redemption Forgiveness, Second chances. Victor's mantra echoed in his mind. He would cling to it, no matter what. As he lay on his bunk, Victor's thoughts turned to Ava. " I know she's happy in her marriage! I can bet that But does she ever think of me? The questions swirled, but Victor pushed them aside. His journey had just begun.
