A Little More Private

The brooding stranger's eyes almost sunk into his skull, but not in an abnormal or unappealing way. They reminded Colleen of shining a flashlight into a dark forest and suddenly seeing the light reflecting off eyes peering back at you – eyes that you didn't know were there a moment earlier. "You didn't. Startle me. I mean, you did, but it's alright." "Is it?" the mysterious man asked as his eyes swept over Colleen from head to foot. He seemed to be studying her somehow. Colleen took a step backwards. "Don't be afraid." The man reached out and gently gripped Colleen's fingers. He lifted them to his pale lips and kissed the back of her hand. The surprising feel of his cool touch against her warm skin sent a shiver up and down Colleen's spine. For some reason beyond her comprehension, it also sent a feeling of giddiness to the pit of her stomach. "My name is Ben," he said as he slowly lifted Colleen's hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it in a most gentlemanly manner. Even though Colleen expected the lips to be cool against her own warm skin, she still twitched a bit upon the moment of impact. A shiver shot up her spine. Her knees buckled too, but she managed to keep herself upright and hoped Ben didn't notice. "I take it this is your first time?" Ben asked. Colleen gulped nervously. She shook her head up and down. "Ah," Ben said quietly. Colleen waited for more. What did "Ah" mean? It could signify anything from That's great, that's just what I wanted... to Are you kidding me with this crap? Screw off, girlie... to Hmm, I'm surprised you admitted that... Colleen feared she had already blown her chances now of blowing something else later. She pinched the inside of her own palm. What was she thinking? She wasn't supposed to be thinking like that...about him at all! "So, are you a sucker or a bleeder?" Ben asked with a deadly serious tone. Colleen's mouth fell open in surprise for a moment. Then she saw the playfulness in Ben's dark eyes and the grin forming in the corners of Ben's mouth. "I thought you were serious," Colleen said with a relieved laugh. "You totally had me going there for a second. You were listening before? When I was talking to that other guy?" "T-shirt boy was very entertaining," Ben teased. "But where were you? I didn't see you. How could you be close enough to hear us?" "I wasn't that far away. Just sitting over there at the corner table. Watching. Waiting." "For?" Colleen asked. "You. I've been waiting a very long time – for you." This time, Colleen noticed the lack of playfulness in Ben's eyes or a grin anywhere on his face. Whatever the mysterious man meant by that, he believed it. She had to think of something to change the subject. "Have you been here long?" Colleen asked tentatively. "No," Ben answered, purposefully being as evasive with his answer as he knew Colleen had been with the question. Colleen put her hands in her pockets, drawing her arms closer to her body. She looked intently at the man who seemed to be about ten years older than her own age of twenty-five. Colleen's mouth went dry as she rephrased the question, the answer to which could change everything. "Ben, how long have you been waiting?" The black eyes stared back at her. "Nearly one hundred years." "A century? That's a long time indeed," Colleen sighed with a faint smile. Internally, she willed her heart to slow down. She told herself to be cool or she might never get what she came for. "Are you thirsty?" the vampire asked as he gestured toward the bar. "I might ask you the same question." Ben arched his eyebrow. "Touché," he said with a bemused smile trying to break free from behind his stoic expression. "Perhaps you'd care to dance," the vampire suggested. He held out his hand. Colleen slowly reached out and clasped fingers with the creature of the night. In addition to the cool temperature, she found the vampire's skin surprisingly smooth. Ben silently led her into another room of the club in which slower, softer music filled the air. A few couples swayed in each other's arms on the dance floor. Despite the minimal lighting, Colleen could see other couples at various tables along the walls. Some laughed and whispered in each other's ears. Some let their hands, lips, and other body parts do the talking instead. Ben pulled Colleen into a tight embrace. He moved them both effortlessly in time with the music. Colleen comfortably rested her head on the vampire's shoulder. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the tall man's arms somehow cradling her both gently and firmly at the same time. "You're a good dancer," Colleen murmured. "I've had a lot of time to practice." Colleen leaned back so she could look the vampire in the face. "Do these time jokes ever get old to you?" "I see what you did there, with that phrasing," Ben laughed. He twirled Colleen around and brought them face to face again. "How old are you anyway?" Colleen asked. "Didn't your mother teach you it's impolite to ask a vampire his age?" "My mother didn't believe in vampires," Colleen said. Ben grinned at the irony. "Did she believe in her daughter finding and choosing the right man with whom to spend her life?" "Of course." "You were born in a wonderful time. People today don't realize how lucky they are. In my day, most people didn't think marriage had anything to do with love. Marriage was really more of a business contract between the fathers who either arranged everything or had an extremely strong influence on it." "I'm sorry," Colleen said sincerely. "Don't be. They're all gone. But I'm still here." He looked into the young woman's eyes and added, "With you." Ben pulled Colleen closer and whispered in her ear. "So I think that makes me the lucky one now." With every word falling from the vampire's lips, Colleen found it harder and harder to resist his charms. So many contradictory thoughts ran through her head simultaneously. "There's something special about you, Colleen. I can't put my finger on it." "Something tells me you're going to try," Colleen replied as she felt the vampire's crotch press against her thigh. The hardening below Ben's waist left no doubt as to the vampire's intentions. "I can feel it," Ben said as he closed his eyes. His tongue quickly darted over his lips and disappeared into his mouth again. "Feel what?" "Your heart. It's racing. Pumping all your blood through your veins." The vampire's hands gripped Colleen's arms tighter as he spoke and the primal urges built up inside him. Colleen looked around the room. Nobody else seemed to notice the two of them. What if Ben bit into her right here? That would be a disaster. She'd always heard of the dangers of trying to hold off a hungry and horny vampire. What if Ben had already reached the point of no return? "Let's get off the dance floor and find a quiet corner..." Ben suggested in his low, seductive voice. He took a step away and immediately picked up on the hesitation in Colleen's body as Colleen took a reluctant step in the same direction. "Let me guess. You don't like to go that far on a first date?" Ben said. Colleen laughed a little. "Got to give them something to look forward to." "That's right. You said this is your first time. How insensitive of me. Please accept my apologies. I believe something a little more private would be appropriate." Colleen jumped on the point like a drowning woman on a life preserver. "Yes. Private. That's it. I feel very self-conscious here with all these other people." "I just want you to be comfortable." Ben held Colleen's hand as he started to move towards the front door. "Is there a back door?" Colleen asked. "That's where I parked, around back." Ben led the way in the opposite direction. The sincerity behind his eyes tempted Colleen to give in to the vampire right then and there. The young woman had to force herself to stay focused. Since she could barely control her own desires, she wondered how she would ever tame those of a vampire. They exited Club Fangtasy hand in hand. The cool night air slapped Colleen in the face when they got outside. Still, she welcomed the change from the stuffy air inside the club. Colleen felt her n*****s stand in salute under her blouse from the abrupt temperature change. At least she tried to convince herself to blame the weather for the reaction in her chest as opposed to the handsome and sexy man by her side. "That's my car over there," Colleen pointed. The vampire squeezed Colleen's tight ass as they made their way to the car. Colleen reached for the door handle. She barely opened the door a couple inches before Ben slammed it shut with a well-placed hip check. "Why did you do that?" Colleen asked. The urgency crept into the vampire's voice. "Because I want you. I need you. Here! Now!" His intensity and boldness scared and excited Colleen at the same time. "I'll make you feel things you've never felt before," Ben said as he threw his arms around the young woman, bringing her in closer, practically crushing her in his strong grip. "You will be mine!" the vampire promised. Colleen's entire body shook with anticipation. "If you only knew how badly I want that right now..." Ben ran his hands through Colleen's beautiful long hair. His fingers traveled down the young woman's neck. Colleen bent her head to the side, purposefully exposing more of her delicate skin. She swept her hand upward along the bottom of her hairline, giving Ben even more area to investigate. The vampire's fingertips tingled with anticipation as they lightly caressed the smooth female flesh beneath them. They explored the surface gently as the vampire sought out her pulsing artery beneath the skin. "That feels incredible," Colleen murmured. A shudder went up Colleen's spine from the cold touch and tickling sensation on her neck, not to mention the other sensation stirring below her waist under her mini-skirt. Ben continued to search slowly, despite the urges building in his own body. He'd learned over the centuries that this form of feeding foreplay, this delayed gratification of temporary self-denial, only made the eventual piercing all the more satisfying. The vampire's sensitive fingers felt the warmth and the slight pulsations beneath the girl's skin. He'd located the exact spot he would drink from on Colleen's neck. He smiled as he felt the quickening of the young woman's pulse. With his heightened sense of smell, Ben detected Colleen's perspiration and pheromone release. The young lady had been telling the truth. This really would be her first time with a vampire – maybe her first time with any man.
