Josey didn't want to watch Sam suffer and leave but she knew she had to let her go so maybe she would one day choose this and choose to be with Josey. It went against every protective instinct in Josey to let her go but it helped knowing Sam would be watched and watched closely without her knowing.That was a big deal not being caught because if they were she would feel cheated out of doing this herself. Josey had her two best friends on the detail. It would be painful for both but more than likely diluted for a human because she didn't have the wolf riding her like Josey did. Josey would try to focus on Mae and helping with anything she needed but what she really wanted was to shift and run til she had nothing left in the tank so she could sleep. Sleep was illusive. She was missing her mate and wanting her home and feeling helpless didn't help matters either. When she did sleep she dreamt of Sam. Which made her wake up with wanting so strong she didn't know how Sam was doing this . Sam took up all of Josey's thoughts during the day. All Josey could do was pray that nothing bad happened and if other things happened that she could forgive Sam. How would anyone feel if your inteneded had s*x with someone else even when they weren't in the right state of mind.
