To Go or Not To Go

1536 Words
Friday after classes were done, students tread the hallways, excited for the party that is being hosted by their school’s coolest boy – Zander Stanford. Shanaia just shoved her books into her locker and then her notepad when the Delta’s daughter and her close friend Sera approached her. “Hey. Should we get ready together?” Sera asked and Shanaia looked at her. “Can’t we get ready at your place?” “Why? You have the better mirror,” Sera asked, confused. “I’m just worried my parents would get a whiff of where we are going,” Shanaia answered. Sera heaved a deep sigh and patted Shanaia’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. I heard that our folks will be out tonight for some group date or something,” she said and Shanaia’s eyes lit up. “Really?” “Really.” “Great!” “So, I’ll drop by your room later,” Sera said and Shanaia grinned. “Sure,” Shanaia chirped. Then the Beta’s son jogged towards them. “Are you excited for tonight?” Jake asked and the two girls looked at him. “Hell yeah.” The girls answered in unison. “It's been a while since Zander organized a party, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be epic,” Jake spoke and both girls nodded in agreement. Then the three of them began to talk about what they would do later; what to wear and how to get to the location. They plan it out while they are on their way back to the pack house. Zander’s party has always been considered the coolest and the most epic of all high school parties. Not only does it have the best music but his party has unlimited food and booze for everyone to enjoy. That’s why most of the students are buzzing with excitement for the coming event. Girls are making sure they are wearing the sexiest outfit, the most noticeable makeup in hopes that Zander or anyone from his circle to notice them. Guys are also hoping to get laid in that event, especially since there will be a lot of hormonal teenagers. In the Blueblood Moon pack house, Shanaia, and Sera were just done getting ready for the party, but Sera left to get her purse. Shanaia was left in her room, doing some touch-ups on her makeup. Shanaia was wearing a dark green body-hugging haltered dress that went up to her mid-thigh which she partnered with black combat boots. She then put her beautiful blonde hair into a bun and made her eye makeup a bit dark to make her eyes sharp like a cat’s. She was spraying her perfume when there was a knock on the door. “Come in!” she hollered. The door in her bedroom opened and when she looked in its direction, she saw her little brother, Seb instead of Sera. “Where are you and Crane going? I even saw Jake and Sera all dolled up,” he asked. Shanaia looked at her youngest brother. “What are you doing here?” she asked, as she looked at the notebook and pen in his hands. “I came to ask you to help me with my science homework,” Seb answered. Shanaia clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth and sighed. “Sorry, bro. Can't do that now, we are going to go to a party,” Shanaia answered. Seb frowned. “I heard about the party,” “So, you know why I cannot help you with that,” she said pointing at her brother’s notebook and then turned to look into her mirror. Seb huffed and crossed his arms over his chest while his sister looked at her reflection in the mirror. Then Sera came knocking on the open door. “Are you ready?” Sera asked. Shanaia turned to her with a wide smile on her face. “Yep!” she chirped and then she grabbed her purse. She was about to leave, walking past her brother when Seb cleared his throat. “Mom and Dad didn’t know about the party,” he spoke and then Shanaia paused. She then slowly turned around and looked at him. “Actually, neither of the adults knows about the party.” He said, looking at his sister and then at Sera. Sera grabbed Shanaia’s arm. “Shan, your little brother is in his evil spawn mode again,” Sera said. Since Seb is the youngest and is still in middle school, he is mostly left out when his siblings and their friends go out. He isn’t fond of being left out and he has a knack for telling on them, which earned him the nickname in which Sera mentions – evil spawn mode. Shanaia groaned and huffed as she looked at Seb. “You have to stop blackmailing us,” she pressed. Seb smirked and his eyes clouded, meaning he was contacting someone through their mind link. “I remember Mom and Dad telling us not to leave the pack premises while they are away,” Seb spoke. In panic that his brother might really tell their parents about the party, Shanaia stepped forward and snatched the notebook from his hand. “Fine! I’ll help you with your stupid homework!” Shanaia exclaimed. Seb’s eyes cleared and then he grinned. “W-What? But Shan…” Sera whined. Shanaia looked at her with an apologetic look on her. “I’m sorry, but I have to take care of this little s**t before I can go to the party,” she told her. “She’s just manipulating you,” Sera said and Seb scowled at her. “It doesn’t matter. If he tattles on the adults, there will be no party. So, you go ahead and tell Crane about the little mishap. I’ll catch up on you guys after I am done with him,” Shanaia explained. Sera heaved a deep sigh and then she nodded before she threw a nasty look in Seb’s direction. “One day I will make sure to get back on you,” she hissed and Seb stuck his tongue out at her. Sera growled and Seb continued to taunt her so Shanaia had to intervene. “Sera, go and have fun. I’ll catch up,” she told her friend. Sera looked at her. “You better,” she said and then she threw Seb a glare before leaving. After Sera left, Shanaia let out a frustrated sigh as she looked at her brother. “Come with me,” she spoke and then she led her brother towards their study room. All three siblings share one study room where they do their homework or study undisturbed. Their mother wanted them to be diligent when it came to school, thus the room was made. Shanaia and Seb remained in that room for an hour until they were finished with the homework. Once done, Shanaia stretched her limbs as she got up from the chair. “I swear, Seb, you have to stop resulting in blackmailing us to have your way,” Shanaia said. “You guys just have so many things going on that I can make use of to my advantage,” Seb replied and Shanaia gave him a disapproving look. “You are just jealous because Crane and I can go out to parties while you are still in your Mickey Mouse pajamas,” she sneered and Seb gawked at her. “Hey, don’t mock the PJs. They’re comfy.” Seb retorted and Shanaia just rolled her eyes. “Whatever. I’ll leave now. I have done what you asked so, shut your mouth,” she said. Seb did a zipping motion by his mouth and his sister huffed patting his head before leaving the room. Shanaia immediately went down so she could catch up with her friends who were already having fun at the party, located at the no man’s land. But as she stepped out of the pack house, she noticed the pack warriors rushing out of the building. Shanaia was bewildered at what was happening so, she grabbed one of the warriors to ask. “What’s happening?” “There was a massive rogue attack at the no man’s land,” the warrior answered and Shanaia’s eyes widened. As the warrior left, she felt her heart hammer against her chest. There is a massive rogue attack at the place she was supposed to go, to the place where her family and friends are at. She didn’t want to stand idly there while they were in great peril, so she decided to go and help. But as she was about to leave, she was pulled back. “Don’t,” Shanaia turned around and saw her youngest brother, Seb, holding her back. “I need to go. They needed help,” she told him even though she could see worry in her brother’s eyes. “But it's dangerous. You haven’t shifted yet,” Seb reasoned and Shanaia just sighed. “Who knows, I could shift there,” she told him and then she patted his head before she ran towards the direction of the no man’s land.
