"That's very sweet of you." I smiled as I opened the bedroom door.
David didn't say anything, his eyes went back to somewhere towards the window. Taking advantage of the conversation, I slipped out of the bedroom. I headed straight for the exit of the house. Warm sunlight soon met my eyes. Near the shore of the lake I could see Lucy and Chloe lying on a towel and enjoying the sunshine. At the end of the porch, Dad and Finn were sitting, both of them chatting quietly about something. I moved towards the girls who were arguing.
"What happened here?" I sat down next to the girls.
"Neither of us wants to go inside to get something to drink." Lucy glared angrily at Chloe.
"I'm fine here. Don't move." Chloe peered at Lucy through her sunglasses.
