The fire instantly flared up in the fireplace and there was a crackling of dry branches. I saw a broad smile play across Chloe's face. I could see how proud she was of me and she hugged me for a second to show it.
"Wonderful." Chloe smiled.
"I'm sure orange juice will do for drinks." Lucy's voice drifted around the living room.
I stepped back from the fireplace where the stacked wood was already lighting up. I squatted lightly on the sofa that faced the large living room table. Lucy placed a large jug of orange juice on the table. Dad had provided the snacks, which were biscuits, sweets and other trinkets which were quickly eaten.
