Annie rolled her eyes and Johnny shook his head and said under his breath, “Speaking of scoundrels!” Playing along with the regal behavior, Pauline curtsied to the elder gentleman’s amusement. Placing her hand onto his arm, Johnny’s father asked, “Will you accompany me to the table, my dear?” “I think I should help bring in the food,” Pauline hesitated. “You go ahead, Pauline,” Johnny said. “Dad doesn’t often get the chance to demonstrate his French charm.
